re: Wife Democrat Me Republican Dinner With Democrat Friends

Your wife should have stepped up and put a stop to it. It just shows her priorities. Party over principle is their motto.
That was the biggest thing I took as well. If your wife really loved you, she would've stepped up and stopped the political talk. She would've even taken them off to the side to let them know that her husband is being nice not responding, and to cut it out with the politics.
The fact that she didn't show she values her politics and party over her own husband. That's not a marriage to me that has a long future.

Actually in California everyone of her friends who were Democrat knew i was Republican and never did that to me.
Never once treated me like that.
These people came from Hawaii .
To be honest seeing the posts it looks like a reflection of where our country is at right now. Very polarized on either side.
It is the MSNOW versus Fox News.
Didnt mean to start world war 3
Just understand, you're going to have to make a decision. You need to have a long talk with your wife about how last night was unacceptable to you and that it took all you had not to challenge them right there.
I would honestly tell her she has to choose between you or those friends from last night. That those "friends" are no longer invited over, nor would you all be attending any future events with those "friends".
Then talk about all of your viewpoints. If you agree on most moral things and simply disagree more on policy and fiscal issues, perhaps your marriage can be saved. But if you find your disagreements are truly based on morals, how you two see the world and what you all want the U.S. to become, then I would start preparing for the divorce now.

I am the same way. I didn't always feel this way, either. The stakes are just too high today. They stand for everything I oppose and against everything I favor. I left a band in which I had played for 21 years because of their TDS and liberal, leftist leanings and support. I feel much better with that poison out of my life and social activities. I used to agree with Thomas Jefferson's philosophy on having friends with a different political belief. Not anymore. Times are different now.
100%. Back in the 90s and 2000s it was mostly policy differences or differences on taxes. It was things you could disagree with while not threatening the marriage, relationship or friendship. Now it's truly moral differences and differences in what you want to see this country become.
I've genuinely cut off friendships and relationships since 2017 due to what the Democrats have become. All they do is create drama and stress in my life. Like you, I feel a lot better knowing I have friends who truly share my moral views and knowing I have cut toxic and poison former friends out of my life.

Jesus, dude. It's OK to have a different opinion on politics.
It's not policy differences anymore. Liberals falsely believe they have some sort of "moral superiority" because of their s*icidal empathy. They believe Conservatives are evil and should be put in re-education camps. They look at Conservatives as less than human.
For the OP, all I can say is, get ready for the divorce papers. I really hope she brought a fair amount of assets to the marriage, otherwise she's going to take you to the cleaners. And then she'll get to brag to her liberal friends about how she fleeced her evil conservative ex.
And don't raise your voice too much, otherwise she'll probably add on that you "threatened" her and committed domestic violence, causing her to get even more. Or if she wants to go nuclear, just put out a false rape allegation against you and destroy your life completely.
Sorry to say it, but I think you know how this is going to go.

As long as people keep staying home or voting third party instead of voting for the party that can actually beat the Dems, the answer is yes.
Lots of stupid people on this board think they're being principled when they're really just being useful idiots.
The problem with this is it supports Republicans doing nothing. This mentality is what allows Republicans to say "we're going to get tough on immigration" or "we're going to get a balanced budget" to get elected. Then once they are elected, they don't do a single thing towards what they promised.
Even worse, it encourages Republicans to do nothing, so they can keep using it for the next Election Cycle. I'm convinced, for example, that a lot of Republicans didn't want the abortion issue solved, because they wanted to use it constantly every election.
Republicans for the most part now are nothing more than Democrat Lite. So you're saying we need to be forced into voting for Democrat Leftists or Democrat Lite. That doesn't sound like much of a choice to me.

My other thought is this is why removing essentially all bullying might not be good. This wouldn't have happened when I was in high school back in the early to mid 2000s.
The boy who switched to the girls division would've been laughed out of our high school and wouldn't have been able to show their face. They're admitting they are a loser.

What happened to "girls are equal to or better than boys" or "a woman can do anything a man can do" or "women are the stronger sex because we have babies"?
Feminists now have a tough choice. Admit that women, on average, are physically inferior to men and can't compete with men on a level playing field in terms of athletics and other physical competitions, and women need protecting. Or they can still insist women are equal, at which point men should flat out flood women's sports.
Heck, if men and women are physically equal in sports, why even have men's and women's teams. One team, best players make it. Of course we know that would be the end of women in sports as we know it. But it's what many feminists deserve.

Can’t even beat Kentucky. Lane has his hands full right now with a more expensive roster than Bama has.
Lane Kiffin is in his first year at LSU. No one expected LSU to win the National Title in year one at LSU. Playoff appearance at best, but most predicted 8 - 4 or 9 - 3.
Kalen DeBoer is in his third year at Alabama. Alabama fans expected a National Title year one and no drop off. Kalen DeBoer has no National Titles, no SEC Titles and a humiliating loss to IU.
Lane Kiffin isn't Nick Saban, but no one is. And at least Lane has an intensity to him. DeBoer is absolutely soft and that rubs off on his team. Heck the guy looked like he was low key having a panic attack yesterday.
They aren't even remotely the same. Make no mistake, Alabama fans would trade DeBoer for Kiffin tomorrow if it was possible.
Something Alabama fans should seriously remember before firing DeBoer
Posted by FloridaSaintsFan on 10/18/26 at 10:58 am
You aren't going to upgrade. Because ironically, Alabama's history and success is now going to become it's greatest liability. I said that when Saban retired and it's even more true now.
Curt Cignetti isn't coming. Kirby Smart isn't coming. Lane Kiffin isn't coming. Will Stein isn't coming. Mario Christobal isn't coming. Dabo Swinney might come just due to being on thin ice at Clemson, but Dabo can't win big in the NIL era. Heck at this Dabo would probably be a downgrade from DeBoer.
But here's the thing, more than all of that, any head coach who goes to Alabama has to accept never being more than the third best head coach in Alabama history. Any head coach who goes to Alabama has to accept immediately that they will always be compared to Bryant and Saban. Any head coach who goes to Alabama will have to accept being told constantly "well you're good, but you aren't the Bear or Nick".
Head coaches in football have massive egos. They want to be the Bear Bryant or Nick Saban of their program. Any head coach who goes to Alabama now will never have the field named after him, never have the stadium named after him, and will always be third best.
Think about that, a head coach could come into Alabama, win 2 or 3 National Titles, and it'll be "that's nice, but Bryant and Saban won 6".
And in the NIL era, Alabama no longer has the money advantage either. Curt Cignetti at IU showed last year a head coach can now win almost anywhere that is willing to go in on football. Last year fundamentally changed college football going forward. The days of only 10 or 15 schools having a legitimate chance to win a National Title at the start of the season are over.
Coaches want to go to a program thinking they can be the best that ever coached at that program. Again, money isn't a factor, as plenty of schools now with rich alumni are willing to pay up for a good coach. At the vast majority of schools, 1 or 2 National Titles gets the stadium or field named after you, or at least a prominent statue. No coach can go to Alabama at this point and think they'll ever be looked at anything more than third best. That will become a huge liability to Alabama going forward.

Last time UGA and Bama lost on the same day was 2006. The last time UGA, Bama and Texas lost on the same day was 1996.
Both National Title years for my Gators! I can dream.

Are you surprised? UGA is such a trash program in every way. Trash football team, trash players and absolutely a trash fanbase. I mean their big thing is literally barking like they are actual bulldogs in other fans faces. Like how trashy can you be?
For Gator fans, the only ones who are worse in terms of trash are Miami.

Sarkisian I'm not convinced would be any upgrade from DeBoer. Riley would be an absolute disaster at Alabama.
Normally I would say a UK coach would be a guarantee for Bama, that there's no way a UK coach stays there for football and doesn't go to Bama. But Will Stein is a Kentucky guy through and through and Cignetti and IU showed last year you don't have to be at a powerhouse anymore to win it all.
I would've never said it even 5 years ago, but I honestly think Will Stein would turn down Bama and stay at UK.
Alabama fans like to forget a huge fact...

Alabama football, outside of the 91 - 94 time frame, was largely irrelevant from 1982 - 2006. You were literally irrelevant for a quarter century after Bear Bryant.
The only times you really won were typically due to cheating. How many seasons did Bama have to forfeit all their wins?
History shows you don't just replace legends. You all might be heading to another 20 years of mediocrity, especially in the post-Saban NIL world.

That Bama team looked utterly defeated going into the locker room
Posted by FloridaSaintsFan on 10/17/26 at 6:23 pm
In a way I haven't seen a Bama team look defeated in a long time. Probably since the 2018 NC game against Clemson. Before that, you're probably talking pre-Saban.
Not just a "we'll get them next week" type defeated. The "our dynasty is truly over" type defeated.
That Bama team looked done. 4 losses easy for Bama this year.

Yeah I hate it too. It's still kind of admitting you look at Bama as the king of the SEC. That's no longer the case. A school like Tennessee should expect to beat Bama.

Maybe you shouldn't have been so overconfident and looking ahead to us. With these gaps, Baugh is going to run it down your throats. We'll be dominating you by 14 or more in two weeks. Go Gators and f*ck you pathetic inbred mutts.

Not willingly but he will when he's told he won't be starting at Texas next year. Maybe he can go to Tulane and a Manning can finally play for a Louisiana school.
