what the frick does that even mean? Both teams are two of a kind. What are u saying

What I'm trying to say—and apologies if I'm not explaining it very well—is this:

Easton is committed to Texas, and Jalen is committed to Texas Tech. Texas only has to keep one elite recruit, and Texas Tech only has to keep one elite recruit. LSU, on the other hand, has to flip both if we want to land both players.

That means LSU would likely have to dedicate enough NIL resources to win two recruiting battles, while Texas and Texas Tech each only have to win one. At some point, if resources become a factor, LSU may have to decide which player provides the better return on investment.

Hopefully, it never comes to that, and we find a way to land both.

Unlike some of the posters here, I do think this is a fair question.

Thank you. From everything I've read, Texas and Texas Tech may be able to offer a bigger bag, and they're only prioritizing landing one of these players. LSU would potentially have to land both. At some point, LSU may have to decide which player provides the best return on its investment. Coach Kiffin has already shown he's willing to walk away when he doesn't believe the value is there.

I'd love to keep Royal home in Louisiana. At the same time, our wide receiver room is already loaded (while acknowledging Royal could end up being better than anyone currently on the roster). On the other hand, our defensive line doesn't have that same level of proven depth.

Obviously, the ideal outcome is landing both. But if circumstances forced LSU to choose, I'd lean toward Brewster because I believe building an elite defensive front has the bigger impact on winning championships.

Easton Royal or Jalen Brewster?

**Easton Royal or Jalen Brewster?**

I'm sitting here hoping **both** Easton Royal and Jalen Brewster flip to LSU! ????

But let's play a "what if."

**What if we could only land one of them? Which one are you taking?**

I think most people would choose **Easton Royal**. He's a Louisiana kid, and we'd all love to keep another elite prospect home in the Boot.

As tempting as that is, **I'd take Jalen Brewster.**

Here's why...

I want LSU's defense to become elite again.

I have complete confidence in Coach Kiffin and the offensive staff. They've consistently developed explosive offenses, and I trust them to turn a 3- or 4-star wide receiver into a star.

What we've been missing lately is an elite defense to complement an elite offense.

We've had some outstanding offenses in recent years, but too often the defense has kept us from competing for championships. If we can keep Blake Baker around for a few more years and continue giving him elite defensive talent, I think LSU has a chance to become dominant on both sides of the ball.

**So if you could only choose one...**

?? **Easton Royal?**
or
?? **Jalen Brewster?**

Who are you taking, and why?

In fairness, we thought we had an excellent roster at this time last year.

And we did—at least defensively. We didn’t know Nuss was dealing with an injury, and the offensive line deserved more concern than it got.

This year carries a different feel. The offense has been rebuilt from the ground up, Blake Baker and most of his staff remain, and the defense added pieces that actually fit.

Lane put it best yesterday: it all means nothing unless you’re productive. I like the edge, the energy, the sense of purpose from this staff. If that tone takes root with the newcomers, we could be onto something special. I’m trying not to get carried away—but hope has a way of sneaking past the guardrails.

Seems like a very experienced roster. I feel like we have a ton of juniors.

unfortunately, we have to re-sign them all after next season...

Lane sounded confident yesterday that he can keep the core he wants, and his Ole Miss track record backs that up—there wasn’t a mass exodus. Add in the chance to play in front of 100K+ LSU fans and be coached by this staff, and I like our chances of keeping most of these juniors until it’s actually time for the NFL.

Bottom line is. A yearly playoff contending LSU with a championship sprinkled in will return 10 fold in profit. Thats why you spend.

I read somewhere that Verge said the season ticket holder requests are up 30,000 already this year!

I usually hate a cupcake game to start the season, but wish we had one this year with the new system and almost all new players on offense.

I think that the work effort put in by Lane and his coaches over the last two months will be fully focused on Clemson in a few more weeks.

I like our chances!

I have thoroughly enjoyed running the portal news tracker during the duration of the transformation of our roster. It’s been fun engaging with you all.

This was my first time to closely follow the transfer portal. Your posts were invaluable. Thanks so Much!

Why do both On3 and 247 show that we have a total of 35?

247 missing:
JaKolby Jones (Copiah-Lincoln CC)
Ja’Mard Jones (Nicholls State)
Treylan James (Southern)

On3 missing:
JaKolby Jones (Copiah-Lincoln CC)
Treylan James (Southern)

Do you know why they would be missing?

When you look up JaKolby Jones, they have him listed as committed to LSU, but they don't have him counted in the 35.

Jakolby Jones

Does anyone know when he is scheduled to complete his visit to Miami?

BTR is a good place to visit on the way back to CO!

:geauxtigers:

Maybe an OL from Miami.

How about Francis Mauigoa — OT
Ryan Rodriguez — IOL

Does the intent to enter count

I understand they have to give their intent to enter by 11:59. Then, the school has 48 hours to put them in the portal.
