Fair enough.
How else would they stop it from “continue letting this happen?” If not ban.

Pardon me.
What is the proper etiquette here?
Is it not the OffTopic forum section?
Why would there need to be a ban?
When I signed on, i must have missed the training video during the mandatory on boarding session.

It might be like cilantro.
To some people it tastes wonderful. To others it tastes like soap.
I want to like her voice, I try to like her voice, but every Sunday night listening to her just gives me the aluminum foil on tooth fillings reaction.

Carrie Underwood’s voice/singing.

Probably an unpopular take, but her singing makes my bones ache. It’s terrible IMO.
No?
No?
LSU has never been this excited about a coach coming in.
Posted by Hillbilly_Deluxe on 11/30/25 at 6:31 am
Think about it in terms of potential.
1. Saban. Some potiental seen at MSU, but not a sexy hire at the time.
2. Miles. Some potential at OSU, and a solid coaching perigee, but “could he be like Saban?” when he came to LSU. Not a sexy hire at the time.
3. Orgeron, great recruiter and some coaching potential show along the way, but “could he be like Saban and Miles?” when he came to LSU. Not a sexy hire at the time.
4. Kelly. At the time of hire, BK was the best POTENTIAL coaching hire in history. Most everyone thought his Achilles heel was being at Notre Dame. It was a sexy hire that most thought would lead to a national championship in just a few short years. Even still, “can he be like Saban, Miles, and Orgeron…” when he came in.
Now.
Kitten has to be the sexiest hire of all time for LSU. Most POTENTIAL of any incoming coach ever. Best coaching perigee. Biggest initial splash to recruiting. Proven coaching experience especially in the most recent years.
Has to be the biggest football coaching hire for LSU in history right?
I can’t think of anyone else off hand.

Sometime in the first half of the Iron Bowl.
What better way to stick it to two LSU rivals at one time.
Believe DAT!

Natty or Super Bowl…

1. What would a coach like Nifty Kiffy want more?
2. Which one would be the most realistic to get? I’m assuming the Natty for a guy like Kiffy.
3. If Natty, what would be the most realistic college to get it at, LSU, Old Miss, or Florida? I’m assuming LSU since three different coaches over a span of 16 years. Tells me the talent is superior in Louisiana.
Lane is going to get paid and paid well anywhere he goes. If one school or NFL team can pay a million or two more or less, a guy like Kiffy might not care. He’s going to make way more than the contract when you consider endorsements and such.
So it has to be more about the championship (CFB or NFL) than the money right?

I’m a radio only who dat.
Got tired of all the political drama on the networks not to mention all of the commercials that weren’t family friendly.
The radio broadcast is great (obviously saints homers) but I love also listening to the Cannon with the pre, halftime, and postgame commentary.
Especially after he’s had a few. lol.
Happy thanksgiving week Who Dats.

Thanks guys.
Lots of great info here.
I’m going to check out MB this week.
I do like the idea of making my own, but going to do a bit of deep diving research on this subject.
Happy thanksgiving.

I’ll stop by there this week.
Is it the market basket brand or another brand to look for.

Good point.
I do think I need just a smoked pork sausage rather than andouille.

Andouille Sausage…help.

I’m not sure what’s happened, but all of the brands of Andouille sausage that I’ve used over the years have been getting worse.
For one thing, the “grind size” of the filling has become too coarse and too much gristle in it.
While I can power through it, my wife and kids no longer like the brands of sausage I use in great dishes like, red beans, gumbo, and shrimp and grits.
In need some expert help here guys.
I’m looking for a smoked pork sausage that has a fine grind on the filling.
I live in SWLA if that helps to know where I can source the sausage.
Thanks.

Is there any merit the “coaching tree” aspect to finding a great next HC?

Brother. I like this post.
This is what I’ve been saying. When you take the emotional element and the name marketing strategies out of it, you look at numbers.
Granted the sos and conferences plays into this somewhat, but this was a really great post to help with realistic conversations.
It’s like those of us who’ve been blessed with a great wife.
Looks are wonderful but it ain’t worth it if they are crazy.
When you’ve got a good one, one that will go the distance with you, you can sure recognize the guys who also got it right and the ones who got it wrong.
There are tangible things you can point to. Not just the gut feeling stuff.
I submit it is the same with coaches.

Fair enough. I don’t know a lot about how it’s being used in coaching searches.

I understand what y’all are saying and your hesitations. But hear me out.
Analytics are changing the landscape of business, investing, heck how do you think the sports booking agencies and casinos will always eventually win more than they will ever give away in earnings.
What if some smart guys and gals at LSU just looked at the winning years these past 26 years. Saban, The Hat, and O.
Then with tons of data points measured, see if there are actually statistical factors that can give tangible evidence to those “intangibilities” we all assume great coaches have.
Then they can go back and look at championship team from the past 26 or more years and see if there are any trends in head coaching qualities.
Im telling you analytics can tell you a lot. But I agree it can be 100% and make picking a coach a sure thing.

use analytics to help find a coach?

With analytics taking over ever sport, and now with the combo of AI, I wonder if you guys know if they (coaching search teams, firms, etc) use analytics to help find a coach?
For example, taking in account winning football programs, can they manipulate and mine data to look for certain metrics that could point to a coach with championship instincts?
Thought?

I was at tech the year the bulldogs came back from about 30 down to beat the cowboys in Shreveport. Not a bowl game but where tech would play to attract a big school home and home. Of course that was in 2000 I believe and would be a few years before the Hat arrived in BR.
But that was one of the Hat’s teams I believe.
Was OSU an improved team enough to make the Hat a viable coach candidate for LSU at the time?

Have you ever wondered what about him was presented that caused the leadership and the TAF big wigs to say, “yeah, this is our guy?”
