Internet/TV Streaming at Tailgates
Posted by trosctigers1 on 8/19/25 at 1:39 pm
This will be our 5th year RV tailgating (former TDV2 moving to Alex Box lot this year) and we're looking to upgrade our Internet/TV setup. Using mobile hotspot the last 4 years to stream ESPN, etc. has been extremely inconsistent - especially for big SEC games and closer to game time. We have both AT&T and Verizon cell phones, and the mobile hotspot has been inconsistent with both of them.
What has everyone been using to successfully stream games around campus? I noticed a fair amount of starlink panels set up in TDV2 last year and was wondering how well starlink was working on busy gamedays? I.e. an Alabama game, etc. If you have starlink and recommend, would you get the starlink mini or starlink standard?
Other options I've read about are DISH antenna or getting an actual hotspot router from T-Mobile, AT&T or Verizon, but not sure if that would be much different than using mobile hotspot on the phone. Any feedback is much appreciated!!
Geaux Tigers!!
