re: Deer hunting around Poplarville MS

Thanks all for the input. It seems like West of 59 is similar to an area I used hunt around Kentwood in terms of consistency. To say it was hit or miss would be an understatement.
In general Picayune on northward do appear to be nice areas.

Deer hunting around Poplarville MS
Posted by enjoylife72 on 8/18/25 at 1:26 pm
I am looking to relocate and have been looking at the Picayune / Carriere area. I have noticed further north around Popularville it is more rural. I am contemplating whether it's worth expanding my search, and spending more, to possibly getting someplace I can hunt. Or even buying land after I relocate.
What can you all tell me about the area? Specifically East of I59. It is in the Southeast management zone.
I currently hunt around Monticello and there is definitely plenty of deer there. So that would be the comparison I could make.
Thanks
