I just saw Kiasportages dumbass post about hype and I am definitely not that same guy. I am very excited for the season and understand the hype. I think we have a top 2 QB in the nation and the best receiving room in the country. Our defense is lightyears ahead of where it was last year, especially the secondary! I didn't think I would get the response I have gotten on this post, I just truly think this will be the toughest opener we have had, and if we end up losing a lot of people will be calling for BK's head even though a loss in this game wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. (for example I thought the world was going to end after last years loss to USC in the opener :yack:)
I dont know what an alter is, but I never said he was going anywhere, what I meant by that take was it would be the end of the world for the fan base and their trust in him. I should have been more clear on that. And from a lot of the comments on this post I think my point was proven lol, even the slightest talk of a possible opening day loss and I am getting grilled beyond belief!
I don't disagree with that take, I just think some losses are easier to swallow than other losses. The USC loss last year for example is enough to make me want to puke lol
I think the lack of execution and preparedness is what was most disappointing. Missed field goals and dropped punts still haunt me to this day lol. But that is a fair point
Ah yes because I am sure you expect Hawaii to win every single game and then sit in and anger sorrow when they dont lol
First post here and y'all will probably send me to the gallows but here goes!

If LSU loses against Clemson, it SHOULDN'T be the end of the world. We are playing a top 5 team, on the road, at night. Klubnik is maybe the only QB in College Football better than Nuss, and they have what I expect to be a top 3 defense in College Football. There is no two ways around it, Clemson is a damn good team.

The problem is, if we do lose, it WILL be the end of the world. Losing 4 straight season openers is diabolical, especially when 2022 and 2024 are easily winnable games. (2023 FSU is somewhat acceptable) Had BK won '22 and '24, losing this game against Clemson wouldn't be nearly the catastrophe it will be if he does lose. BK backed himself into this corner and now has to pull off a win in what is surely our toughest opener of his tenure at LSU. Can he do it? I am definitely skeptical. But I do think even with a loss, we have the talent in what is a weaker SEC this year to still make the playoff. And if we somehow pull out 11 straight wins after the Clemson loss and get a top seed in the playoff, then BK can maybe actually take a breath!
