Or simply they are people who weren't in a position to be privy to information during the previous search.

Or just trolls. Who knows :)
I said this in a different thread already, but as I understand it, the deal really is all but finalized. All the terms are agreed to and lane is genuinely wanting to come to LSU. The ONLY hangup is timeline/NCAA schedule. He still wants to coach the season out, and LSU would let him, but Ole Miss will not. The deals done, but while I haven't actually heard a specific time/date, from I've put together I'd be surprised to see anything OFFICIAL before Sunday/monday. could easily leak before then though.
How about Bowers having the flight plan set to land in BR just to divert to NOLA halfway through.

Unfortunately the only "news" people on here will accept is a picture of a signed contract and an official time for the announcement. My understanding is that that lane's party wants to hold off on announcing, and LSU seems to ok with that. LSU is pushing for some form of signature but lane's team is paranoid about leaks. I still understand this to be virtually wrapped up, with the only question remaining being the timeline.

I get the sentiment, but there exist a space between "just words" and "signed CONTRACT"

Nonsense, and if this were the case it would have been done immediately so we wouldn't potentially lose out on a coach by not having our ducks in a row in time

Do you think it's possible you might be overestimating how well thought out/coordinated our BK exit strategy was in the early days?

All of them?
At best, inaccurate reporting. At worst, misinformation.
