That’s my grandmas franchise! I live in Louisiana but worked at the original Runza in Lincoln, my family’s original home. Dad played baseball for Nebraska. I make them for my Louisiana friends. Yummy!

There are now 87 in the Midwest. Grandma immigrated from Russia through Ellis Island as a child. Runzas were her translation of Russian Bierocks.
She started the original Runza Drive Inn to kelp her brother, uncle Al, who was suffering with PTSD from WWII and give him something to do.
If you watch Nebraska sports, you can often see fans wearing Runza Hats, die to Runza being part of Nebraska culture. The recipe is kept secret and production is extremely labor intensive which is why I will only make a huge batch once a year. They are delicious!
I reside in Bossier City now, after moving back when “Dr.Razz” retired from LSU after 41 years of service.

This franchise was started by my grandmother Sarah “Sally” Everett. I worked at the original one in Lincoln Ne. where my family is from. Dad played baseball for the Huskers. I do make Runzas myself for friends in Louisiana.
I was also married to the late Dr. Robert Rasmussen, former LSU administrator. He loved Runzas too!
