Just….no…worst they’d have is a split with UGA and that holds a lot of water. Their resume should hold serve already.

There are a lot more teams with similar records this year. Say Alabama stays at #10 in Tuesday’s rankings but lose next weekend and BYU wins. BYU will “move up” and grab a spot, while seed #’s 11 and 12 will go to James Madison/AAC Champ/ACC champ. What do you think happens to Alabama in this scenario?

You seem angry. Although, I guess I can’t blame you. I would be too if I was stuck living in Alabama where the dating pool consists of my cousins or the 350 pound bearded cashier at Winn-Dixie.
See a lot of people bringing up last year with SMU not being punished for losing the ACC Championship game to Clemson, but there is a big difference between last year and this year. SMU had 2 losses after losing to Clemson compared to the SEC teams with 3 losses they were compared against. This year, they would hypothetically be comparing a 3 loss Alabama to multiple 2 loss teams.

If BYU wins the Big 12 and Alabama loses to Georgia, you think a 3 loss Alabama gets in over a 2 loss Oklahoma that just beat them on the road? Or a 2 loss Notre Dame on a 10 game win streak? Or even a 10-2 Miami? I can absolutely see Alabama dropping out of the playoff field.
Edited to include Vandy but I’m not sure they have a pathway to the playoff unfortunately.
Does Duke get in over the other G5 champ or does the ACC get left out?

Think these would be locks for the playoff:

Ohio State
Indiana
Oregon
Texas A&M
Georgia
Alabama
Ole Miss
BYU
North Texas/Tulane
James Madison (should be a higher rated conference champion than Duke)

Which means 2 spots for:

Oklahoma
Notre Dame
Miami
Texas Tech
Vanderbilt

This fricking game is fricking rigged. I’ve never seen anything like this. They want Alabama in the playoffs .

These Auburn receivers suck.

frick these refs.

Also, if Cal holds on to beat SMU, Duke vs Virginia in the ACC Championship is the worst conference championship I’ve ever seen.
Not college football, but Kendrick Perkins is the absolute worst commentator on television.

Did you type this post with your arse, because that’s what’s clearly talking here.

I know I’m beating a dead horse here but frick Notre Dame. These assholes who play such a boring brand of football with no conference affiliation are always put on a pedestal and taking playoff spots from other teams. I would rather see The Citadel in the playoff than these shitheads.

One of the most interesting scenarios right now is what happens if A&M goes 12-0 and loses the SEC champ game. Would the committee drop us out of the top 4? If so, it massively damages championship games.

If Ohio State, Indiana, and A&M go into conference championship weekend undefeated, they will all stay in the top 3 regardless if they lose or not.

The only movement I can see is Texas Tech taking #4 Georgia’s spot if they win the Big 12 and finish 12-1.

Umm, Venables is probably at least 50% of the reason Clemson has two national championships, maybe more. He had to pick up the garbage left prior to him getting to Oklahoma, and he has just won at Tennessee and Alabama in their houses. Let me know when Cignetti accomplishes that

When was Venables the head coach at Clemson? I must have missed that.

Just a month ago, all of the Sooner fans on here wanted him gone lol.

If Notre Dame wins out, they will be in the playoff. Period.

This doesn’t have a great chance of happening, but if Alabama and BYU win their conference while the other teams also win, it could get interesting.

How so? Texas Tech can do some serious damage this year. I honestly probably put them only behind Ohio State and Georgia.

A few other thoughts.

Texas is eliminated.

Will be real interesting to see if Alabama makes and then loses the SEC Championship. I know there was precedent last year regarding a conference championship loss with SMU but I have a feeling this year could be different and they could slide out for a 2 loss Miami, Utah, or BYU.
Not where I’m at. $5 popcorn bucket fill ups is the best thing around here. I routinely walk into the theater, get a bucket of popcorn, then bring it home to watch sports or when we have people over.

CYPB is cracked too. My palate isn’t terribly refined when it comes to bourbon, as 90% of my alcohol consumption is beer, but these were really tasty. As of now I think the 107 is just as good, but I’m eventually going to try these side by side and see if I can pick up any differences/nuances.

Crazy seeing 4 teams from Texas ranked but none are the Longhorns.
