They deserved to beat A&M. Horrendous no call on an obvious hold. Stop acting like they are that bad. Was A&M's schedule that much of a gauntlet?
The SEC is finding out what happens when everyone can pay players completely out in the open.
Everything SEC fans are saying this year is what they said last year. And but for an OT win by Texas over Arizona State (another team that according to SEC fans had no business beating an SEC team), the SEC would have had no one in the semifinals. Let's just see how it plays out on the field.
It's a team sport. Execution matters - not just who has the "best" players. Otherwise why have a regular season at all? Why don't we just do recruiting analysis and call it a day? Just let's let it play out on the field. SEC fans love to proclaim themselves based on all kinds of things besides the actual results on the field.
Isn't this what SEC fans said last year? How did that turn out?
Now that we have a real playoff, let's see how the conferences fare against each other. Big 10 has 3 teams that could win it this year. SEC has one.
Typical SEC view. "Talent" is not the same as a winning team. Who cares what happens on draft day. They don't play based upon draft position. Scoreboard. Let's see if the SEC can improve on last year.
Talent rank? This is like when SEC fans treated recruiting rankings like they were gospel. On the field results matter. Don't worry - the media still loves you. Alabama didn't drop a single spot after losing to UGA.

Refute what I said about last year's SEC performance.

Isn't that was SEC fans said last year? How did the SEC do last year? Tenn and UGA sure showed the world how tough the SEC conference gauntlet is huh?
They hate the SEC? Alabama didn't even drop a single spot after getting shelled. Tell me what other conference would be treated similarly?

Ohio State played Indiana down to the wire. UGA lost to Alabama once and it wasn't that close.
They hate the SEC? Look at last year. Was the SEC screwed? Did the SEC "show em" last year?
To be fair, they lost to the SEC regular season champion Aggies barely and were the victim of an obvious non-called holding at the end. So now ND is somehow not worthy?
And how did the SEC do in last year's playoffs?
At the end of the regular season? Yeah, thought so.
So you'd rather the writers pick the best two teams rather than have teams earn it on the field? If the SEC is as strong as you think, then it'll show in the playoffs...just like last year right?

I know one of the worst teams in the ACC beat one of the best teams in the SEC in week one.

Ummmm...I think one of them beat Texas. You know, the same Texas that took out A&M.

Ummmm...didn't everyone say similar things about Arizona State last year? The same Arizona State who took the one SEC team to make the semifinals down to the wire?
