I’m a lurker not a poster. Since I live here, just sharing that Clay Chalkville is quite the opposite of an affluent school - 66% free and reduced lunch. I believe that’s about equivalent to Baker High in Louisiana for a comparison.
Kid was fun to watch in high school. Started at QB and scored touchdowns at will. Was the best defensive back on the field. And returned punts.
Press tried to corner him as a senior into saying he wanted to play offense too at Bama. He responded that he wanted to do whatever Coach Saban asked him in a way that made it clear he worked for Coach and not the other way around.
I don’t know him but know several who do, and they all say he’s a great kid. I can’t blame him for getting paid when offered.
