I remember it. As a matter of fact, I actually went to school and played ball with Mike and Mark, sons of the owner. Both worked there often shucking oysters. Their handshakes were like sticking your hand in a crushing vise. Had my first raw oyster there and been hooked ever since.

St. Phillip’s street location was awesome. They also had a small store in the old Bon Marche shopping center. I’m the proud owner of a Belgium-made Browning Sweet 16 shotgun my dad purchased from Steinbergs and gave to me on my 16th birthday almost 50 years ago!
Pretty sure if LSU had a better QB, BK would be playing him. I think it is an unfair assessment of Nuss. LSU can’t run so defenses adapt accordingly. Nuss has a lot of pressure to make plays and produce, otherwise the offense is essentially impotent. I blame it on coaching and perhaps short on talent. Whatever the case, BK will never bring another championship to LSU football.
