Mainstream media, left wing news echo chamber, right wing news echo chamber… they’re all guilty. That’s a tough one because they’re all trying to get eyes/clicks and rage bait is effective for engagement.
There are plenty of fringe people on the right claiming this was caused by engineered weather and was an act of war. It would be intellectually dishonest to conflate that with “the Right’s stance on the flooding”, tho. I’m just tired of political influencers cherry-picking rage bait from either side and further dividing Americans, especially in times when we should be banding together.
Anyways, my nephew was at a camp in Kerr County but came home Thursday night, thank God. Anyone (in either party) who thinks they're helping anyone right now by demonizing half the country should learn when to shut the frick up and allow for a purer discourse focused on response. Everyone's angry and heartbroken in the wake of tragedy and we all want to point fingers. I don't see how cannibalizing ourselves helps literally anything.
You just justify using blanket statements like "Groomers and Pedophiles" and the Left will just as vociferously justify using blanket statements like "Nazis". It's two sides of the same coin and the only people that benefit from that divisiveness are political influencers and foreign Nation State actors who want to see us devour ourselves.
The Lib metonym for the Right saying "well, they've been calling us Nazis" is just "well, they've been calling us Groomers and Pedophiles". This shite is so fricking tired, especially in the wake of a real tragedy like this.
This type of Youtube comments-section provocation is culled up by both sides and disseminated through culture warrior channels so that right and left can demonize each other. A small portion of people in here saying "they are responding to the left doing this shite for years" when they call for California to burn. Then a small portion of the left will say "we're just responding to the right doing this for years" when they say Texas deserves it. There are always going to be stupid people online on both sides looking to edgelord their politics during major events and we'd do best to just ignore them and the accounts that are looking to amplify their voices.
So… you’re hoping Trump’s actions result in an attack on the United States so that we can further empower ICE
Dude is apparently in custody now so I guess we will know soon
This makes no sense. So he goes and shoots another Dem that voted with the party? He had a hit list including other, more progressive Dems.
Ilhan Omar was on his list and the whole thing about both of the Dems that were shot voting with Republicans has been debunked
Isn’t officers as judges the entire premise of Judge Dredd?
He said last week that the announcement didn't have to do with trade
I get that he's trolling, but if Obama posted a picture of himself as the pope there would've been an insurrection. I'm really starting to think that "owning half the country" isn't the best long term platform for any party.
No, just new-ish. In my line of work, my first impulse when encountering somebody online trying to undermine a call for civility and rational discourse is that they're working in a foreign bot farm trying to push civil unrest so "good day to you". Hope they're giving you bathroom breaks.
I understand the impulse to play political football with this issue (and I'm certainly no fan of Kamala, Newsom, or Booker), but I just wish we could transcend it and delve into the real world effects of policy. Too much attention is paid to which side of the uniparty "wins" or gets "pwned" during an election and the rhetoric is 99% a smokescreen that divides Americans and strengthens our enemies.
Why are they dismantling established industries like EV and battery manufacturing then?
I'm legitimately confused by all the efforts made to dismantle ongoing clean energy projects like EV and battery factories if we're looking to reshore manufacturing back to the US. Are we literally talking about textile mills?
