I’m in my late 20s coming from a data collection job where I traveled the country on a 28/14 rotation
I currently have about a semester of credits towards a PTEC degree, but I have a strong desire to work offshore, mainly because of the similar scheduling (i.e. 14/14, 28/28)
It seems that there are many more opportunities for instrumentation techs offshore compared to operators
Being that operators seem to be more limited to plants, should I throw away my PTEC credits and pursue Instrumentation?
As much as I like the idea of being a plant baw and sitting around doing nothing at work, I value my time off more
