Louisiana is the only place that when a hurricane hits... they go out and assess the improvements.

No wonder South Carolina sucks. What the trooper did was wrong, but damn Beamer’s players are soft.
You might be the stupid one. This trooper needs to be held accountable. He did this... on national television with millions watching... hundreds of thousand watching from the stands... and 2 entire football teams and their staff watching... what would this idiot trooper do when he stopped you or your family with no one watching??? I guess then you might say your family was soft? No... you would want the guy held accountable for running into you or your kid on purpose. Geez... be careful with what you call stupid...
Same crap... different day. You guys are delusional on a grand scale.
Congratulations.. you get my vote for the most idiotic thread for the day.

Maybe they're hoping Briles is the magic pill to fix everything in Columbia...
You think? Geez.. my whole point is now they added another 10 million or more to the buyout. Beamer has run his mouth too much after the season and brought even more pressure on himself. He painted himself into a box that he could have avoided. Just bring them in and don't make promises to the base about the CFP.... I like Beamer but damn....
Beamer's hot seat won't effect this if he can't get it right.

Briles agreed to a three-year contract with the Gamecocks that will pay him an average of $2.1 million annually. Former South Carolina OC Mike Shula earned $1.1 million in 2025. Drayton, whose running backs coach title extends to assistant head coach for offense, also signed a three-year contract worth $775,000 a year. Clements, meanwhile, agreed to a two-year contract worth $725,000 per year.

They are getting rid of 4100 seats for just 42 boxes?
Yes.. those seats bring in thousands, and the suits will bring in millions. It's all about the money and it always will be. The whole thing is running on media contracts and overpriced seating. Welcome to 2025 and the scumbag billionaires that control you and all your information. You let it happen and now you wanna bitch? Spare me.

Why fire a coach for an affair?
If the contract says... no affairs... then you get fired for having an affair. The dumb arse agreed to it so it's all his damn fault. Geez...
quote:

It's only a matter of time
I call BS. There is not 1 school that would leave this cash cow... and for what? The B1G will fall behind the SEC in payouts when the next contracts come up. It would be idiotic for any team to leave the SEC or B1G and the only thing more idiotic is to suggest "it's only a matter of time." Geez...

LSU should be able to sue Nuss for the NIL money he stole this year.
Your employer may say the same about you...
quote:

Yea, I don't see how UGA can get that money.
That would depend on a number of factors including whether he was a minor when he signed it. They could attach themselves to any future earnings but it will be interesting to see how this will play out.
Right now, with the portal and NIL, there is no stability for any program. Oklahoma and our year is a prime example. You play the NIL lottery and one season you win and the next you don't. If you pay for a QB but not an offensive line... you're screwed. If you don't invest in a defense as well as the offense... you're screwed. The "new" norm is a crap shoot and changing coaches is actually not the total solution. You have to have good coaches, but you have to have a paid roster to go with it. Beamer was s good coach last year and Venables was a horrible coach. This year Beamer is a horrible coach and Venables is a good coach. Next year that could flip again. There are exceptions (here's looking at you Vandy) but there will be fewer exceptions. We can't all have a winning season. There will be a 1-11 record to match the 11-1 record or a 2-10 record to match a 10-2 record. It can't happen any other way because there will never be a season of most teams are 6-6. Some things will never change and that is one of them. When players make more than the coaches then the true NFL conversion will be complete. Just my opinion.
Kiffin looks like he's a 70-year-old man. What happened to the guy. Stress must be eating him alive.

If you are staying at Ole Miss

Posted by flagshipuniversity on 11/25/25 at 3:42 am
...you don't wait until after a rival game to announce your intentions. You let your team know you're staying and you motivate them by being totally bought into them. He has the Ole Miss offer and rather than end the circus and let LSU and Florida move into another direction he just keeps it going???? That is a sure sign he is gone IMO. Kiffin has no loyalties that would lead me to believe he is staying. None of this makes sense... but then again... it's Kiffin. He should send Saban a nice check for reviving his coaching career. He won't last at LSU, but Florida could be the 'long haul' if he goes there.

He’d be the best coach we’ve had in a long time.
First off Dabo is not a coach. He has been lucky enough to hire a great DC and a couple of good OC. Dabo was too hands on in the beginning and when he took a hands-off approach along with those 2 Megachurch members paying recruits parents he got great players they started winning. The NIL and bad internal hires have caught up with Dabo... he never was or will never be a good coach. Most head coaches don't coach. They hire coaches.
TiptonInSC I went to South Carolina so I am not a band wagon fan. That said... you are delusional if you think this is the time to replace Beamer. Yes.. with mediocre programs like Penn St, Florida and a host of others looking for coaches we could actually pull a rabbit out of our hat (insert sarcasm here). Not !!!!!! He doesn't call the plays either... geez... clueless at best. Hypocritical??? Now you are just being dumb. The Coastal game won't have an effect one way or the other... timing and money absolutely will.
Beamer is a likeable person, and his players love him. He doesn't call plays or coach positions. His job is to get the right coaches in those positions. We will always be a program that will be on the fringe of a great season and the disappointing lows that always seem to follow a great season. That is the "new" college football model thanks to the portal and NIL. We have no real tradition (I do not consider Spurrier's 3, 11-2 season tradition) so that is not going to be a drawing card for us. We need an OL coach and Elliot could be a very good one as he has proven in the past. He can't fix several years of bad coaching in 2 games. The OC is where Beamer has to get it right. It could be an "up and coming" coach (they all are at one point, even the best) or a more seasoned one who is still young enough to be open minded. Replacing Beamer at this point is idiotic at best. He needs to lose his 'loyalty' to bad hires, or he will never make it in the SEC or anywhere else... OK "SEC RANT" done. We keep Beamer and ride it out for now.
These guys are not stopping with this. They are also trying to encrypt over the air stations so there will be no more 'free TV'. They will all do it before it's all said and done. The issue is carriage fees but ESPN is also pushing for their ESPN Ultimate to be a part of the deal. I am going to end up with just the ESPN Ultimate before it's all said and done and depend on Pluto or another free service. The problem with that is they are owned by these companies Pluto (CBS), TUBI (Fox), Freevee (Amazon) and so on and so on. We screwed... :violin:
quote:

Beamer's looking for an aggressive OC...
Not no... but HELL NO !!!!! We need a young guy who can think on his feet, not some old guy looking for another gig. Damn,,,

. So they never cheated before Dabo?
See.. you post dumb stuff you are clueless about. The church members that were providing jobs and housing was not an NCAA violation. There was nothing 'free' in what they were doing (I would argue that was BS) and the NCAA could not do anything to stop it. It was widely known it was going on. It was done out in the open. The cheating was not in violation. It worked while it worked... but like I said the NIL kicked that crap out the window.
