I have a close friend of my family who's daughter was really close to coming to LSU.

Disagree all you want. This is our personal experience that is validated by someone else. I never said we disliked Beth, I said she never spoke about winning during our conversations and she seemed unprepared versus the other schools we visited when it came to our questions. I'm not going to give her a pass because other coaches were prepared, and she wasn't.

Yes, I am if that is ok with you.

I’m a huge critic of Torina but I have to ask what a softball recruit’s expectations actually are for NIL?

To clarify, we were looking for a plan to give my daughter opportunities. Not where's our bag. Other schools had a clear vision of how the collective worked, how introductions to opportunities happen, what the expectation of her was to futher any potential opportunities, and the tools to do so. For example, one Big 12 school has an app built to consolidate the opportunities. The company/person offering could target one or several athletes or it could go in for bid/proposal from the athlete. This is what I'm offering or will accept for what you want done.

Generally speaking, Tornia just doesn't have a plan. Any maybe as the other posted said the message isn't the same and I get that, but the amount of her scholarship offer and the timing she was brought it indicates she was one she wanted. Also, two of her teammates committed there in the same class and their experiences were similar.
This is facts.

My daughter was in the 25 recruiting class and took an OF to LSU. A good friend's daughter was in the 26 class and took an OF to LSU.

The common theme during both visits was LSU is a "family"

At no point in time was winning a discussion point. Torina is also very wishy washy. She had no explanations or plans for how NiL would work for mine. And for my buddy she had no explanations for how the scholarship changes would affect the class or what it meant from an offer/NiL/Alston award perspective.

Mine chose a school in the ACC that probably will never have the level of success LSU has. My friend's daughter chose a different SEC school that knows how to win and has the rings to show it.

They have 3.

Adelynn Siegel. IF from Shiner, Tx
Giselle De Casas, IF from Cali

And this kid. They missed on the rest that came in for a visit so far.

Maddy Doty (P) = Texas
Caroline Stanton (P) = UF
Brooklyn Gidley (MIF) - uncommitted but most likely UF
Avery Stockwell (C) - uncommitted. Maybe they still have a shot with her.

Last years recruiting class was #5 in the country. This years class is #3. Recruiting is definitely not the problem

It is 100% of the problem outside of Dobson being a terrible hitting coach.

Don't ever believe softball rankings for recruits or recruiting. There is no impartiality to it. Parents submit inflated states and write ups about their kid to the various outlets and they all of a sudden become "ranked"

I know most of the kids in both classes and it isn't anywhere near as strong as those number indicate.

Also, she's blown up her recruiting budget. Most of the 25' class are walk ons or are coming with very little scholarship money. She's sold the future for the present and can't get over the hump either way.

It's going to be dark times in the near future when LSU finally pulls the trigger either by firing her or not extending that contract past 26 with the way she's managed the program to date. And with Texas and OU coming, LSU is going to fall below the middle of the pack in the SEC.
