I could cherry pick a couple tragic situations and make a similar case for alcohol, guns, or whatever. A politician could point to a person physically addicted to alcohol drinking whose life is ruined or a classroom of shot up dead kids, outlaw those things, and I’m sure few here would support that gov’t overreach.

A colleague of mine turned me onto kratom a few years ago. It helped him beat an opiate pill addiction following back surgeries. I dabble in it and find it most useful on Monday mornings if I have Sunday beers to give me a jolt and kill the slight hangover feeling or some afternoons when I’m dragging.

We shouldn’t make responsible users criminals and take our chances with the extreme minority who may have an issue.

Neptune Oyster. No reservations and you’ll have to stand in line for at least an hour but worth it.
I think it’s healthy to consume a variety of news to prevent the echo chamber thing. Not a huge fan of Zakaria but will mention Smerconish on Saturday mornings.

I’m sure I’ll get immediate cries of “libtard,” but the guy really does go to bat for both sides. He lambasted Dems yesterday for not giving Trump credit for things he does well like the border. He always opens up opinions from Twitter and gets some doozies from idiots on both sides.
I understand what you’re laying down, dude. I was in a client office years ago and watched an older contact of mine pull out an old school calculator to add numbers on an Excel file on her screen. It was painful. I thought about it for several minutes and took a chance to help her at the risk of embarrassing her.

She was a sweetheart so felt comfortable showing her the magic of the sigma and simple sum command. She wasn’t embarrassed (I don’t think) but was delighted with her newfound knowledge.
Amazing that an organization that has ~85-90% of its expenses go to medical costs would incentivize its members to get the known poison vaccine to only push that # higher. They knew what they was doin’ and tHEY wUZ All IN on It!!!!
This is a great thing for everyone minus those who sell booze. If you look at the data or just walk around places where It’s legal, the cannabis-friendly places have far better indicators of people thriving. The places where gov’t doesn’t embrace it are almost across the board are poorer, fatter, and less educated. I’ve replaced a lot of my drinking with Hop Wtr and the cannabis arts and am a far better person for it.
Yes, knew a guy who started football for Rice in football all four years. He got caught cheating on a final exam the last semester (or quarter) and was prevented from graduating. Zero tolerance for him despite no trouble to that point and four years service as a starting FB.
I’ve done lots of Dead, Phish, and Panic shows and hate this shite with the heat of a thousand suns. It makes adults look like toddlers. That said, I can’t believe anyone sees this as a priority. But this is about what I would expect from people who think spending taxpayer money to send the governor’s haggard bitch wife to observe the border is dandy.

If you want to go nanny state, how about shutting down the drive-thru daiquiri shops? You encourage drinking/driving and making the fattest and dumbest populace in the US fatter and dumber.

When you move to an area of the country that the spirit of the Grateful Dead seems to have completely bypassed, you have to do what you have to do. I ain’t converting to bro country, Christian “rock,”or whatever these people listen to around here.

Saw these guys for the first time Friday night and am hooked. It’s killing my soul that I lived 10 minutes from Chelsea’s this time last year. It will be a haul from Lafayette but thinking about either BR tonight or Daze Between.
