Shaved head and beard is the only way to go.

WTF STULDB?
Got my first quote and I was floored.

I was ready for anything up to 2000.

First quote came in almost double.

It's an old water oak behind my carport. Its, huge, it's in an awkward area to get to, and it has power lines on the sides of it. The only way to get it out will be with a crane, a big crane.

sent out for more estimates today.

Bump

Who did you end up going with?

Im in the same area looking to have some taken down
I know it's a drinking stadium, but the SEC doesn't allow alcohol sales at Conference games.

Georgia Dome has beer sales, but doesn't do at the SEC Championship Game.

I am guessing that because it's controlled by the BCS and not technically an SEC game that it should be ok, right?

Well, there is always the PapaJohns.com bowl....
Steve Czaban show on Fox Sports radio was great.

They took him off national so now he is doing local in dc.

Jerry Lee's on Greenwell Springs has really good cracklin.

If you cross the Bridge, Bergeron's on 415 has good ones too

re: Jefferson to start vs. Florida...

Of course Jefferson starts.

He ran for the first TD and was in the game at the end to hand off the game winning TD.

Lee did nothing but get them in field goal range once....

They say the only drawback is the pointy hoods getting caught in the net lay ups.

With enough time, anyone can do anything.

I'd rather have had 10 good/decent seasons instead of a decade of suck with one really good (but not great) season.

Everybody has a price.
Mac's final 7 seasons:

quote:

McClendon's 1973 team lost 3 games in a row to end the season 9-3. Those games included Alabama and Tulane. This was the Tigers' first loss to Tulane since 1948 and signaled the beginning of a decline. During McClendon's last 6 seasons as LSU's head coach (1974-1979), LSU had no appearances in the final AP Poll. During this time, LSU's record was 38-29-2 (.551 winning percentage). The Tigers also lost to Tulane in 1979, but that was followed by one more game, a 34-10 win over Wake Forest in the Tangerine Bowl, McClendon's final win.

After the first bad year, he had 6 more to get it together and didn't. His last game as coach was a dominant bowl win.

Sounds to me like he was given chances, and went out with a solid win.

I understand the man is a legend, but since I was only 2 in 1980 and have zero nostalgia for things that happened before my time, I am looking at this honestly and realistically.

Some times you have to force people out because they won't go willingly....see Bobby Bowden. You can't live off what you used to do forever. If you aren't producing, and you know you aren't you can't stay just because you are a name.

Nobody wants to feel like they are past their prime or irrelevant, but it happens to all of us eventually.
You can wait to claim it next year. It's not something you have to amend and file for now.
I was wondering if anyone has done this and if so how long did it take to get your refund?

I closed last month and mailed in my amended tax return on July 3rd. Just wondering if it's weeks or months I'm looking at.

You should leave a note to the realtor stating exactly this.

I told her that. I don't blame her at all. She did everything she could and was great. Always courteous and professional, and she almost did sway me back. But the "motivated" seller's indifference just turned me off to him.
UPDATE: After I sent my notice, Realtor called me and said she spoke to the seller....

Even though he had a list of repairs, and two eyes that could easily see what needed to be done, seller claimed he was unsure of the repairs....even though he had signed updated Purchase Agreement, and had over a month to ask any questions but chose not too.

I told her I wouldn't discuss it and my offer was gone.

Realtor called back, seller had a contractor out there making all the repairs properly.

I still canceled my offer because a deal should leave both people feeling like good. I wouldn't buy a car from someone who treated me with indifference, why would I buy a house?
The siding on the outside is rotten. It's common in that neighborhood, but FHA won't approve loans when there are appearance issues with the house. They like to have the house looking nice.

I just ten the seller and realtor my cancellation notice, on the grounds that the repairs where not made in the allotted time....that had already been extended once.
I'm sorry, it was a 45 day lock.

But because of the first extension it will kick it out of date if I give them the second extension.
quote:

Can you just deduct the cost of the repairs from the selling price to push the closing through?

Since it is FHA, they won't approve the loan without them.

quote:

If you want the house bad enough, I would just hold out, do the extension, and get that good interest rate.

I only had a 30 day lock, so I would have to pay a fee to keep my rate. If I can find another house quick enough, I can probably get in for 5.25%
Originally, I was to close on May 4th. Then they needed and extension...so we were moved the close to the 18th.

They assured me that all repairs would be made May 1st. Last night I passed by, and NOTHING had been done.

The FHA Final Inspection and Walk Through was supposed to be today. I called the Realtor and told her, that I didn't need to walk through it to know it was unacceptable.

She asked for another extension for the seller.

This would be the 3rd problem and the 2nd delay. It seems like a sign that this isn't for me.

I'm thinking I should take my deposit and walk, even if it means that by the time I find another house I will loose my lock on my 5% rate.
