Great advice, DMAN.
I was involved in leveling my brother’s house, along with my other 2 brothers under my dad’s supervision. A bit nerve racking at times, especially when hearing a loud crack while being under the house operating one of many jacks. Probably a 2 by 4 giving way after years of settling. And yes, doors, windows, sheetrock and plumbing are to be observed throughout the SLOW process!
Just know, as I’m sure you do, that you’re raising everything up with the base, all the way to the top of the rafters…plumbing and all!
Yes… Lakeland. I will give him a shout! Thank you!
I read your thread, a while back, about your dear friend that passed away suddenly and have always wanted to express my condolences and offer prayers to you and her family!
Yes. I’ve been searching the internet and even brick and mortar stores for several weeks, with no luck thus far.
When we built the house, in 2007, we used tile in the kitchen and foyer but stained the floor in an adjacent room to save money. Now that I’m retired I’m in the process of completing undone projects, and tiling this room to match the other is my objective.
I located the 77 tiles on eBay but need twice that much to complete the room, but thanks for looking. Merry Christmas to you too!
We have been searching the internet and even explored the link you suggested, a few weeks ago, with no luck. Found 77 pieces on eBay but will need an additional 80 to complete the room. Thank you for the recommendation.
I’m trying to find a discontinued tile from 2010. It’s a Daltile product. “Travata Chocolate Mousse” 18”x18”.
I was a student at LSU then, although I graduated from SLU, and was in attendance that night. Simply the best game and outcome, with an ominous setting to boot.
My oldest sibling has dementia and is on medication to help with the symptoms, but we all know how it will end! She’s a trooper through it all, and we enjoy every moment with her while we can.
If the time was adjusted by 30 minutes between the two, Standard time and DST, and kept there, that would solve everything!
I too had to bury a child. My daughter passed away 5 years ago, and at times it feels like yesterday. She loved sitting on the swing on the front porch and listening to music. I still find myself doing yard work and thinking of how much she’ll enjoy the scenery when I’m done. Some days are good, but some days, out of nowhere, comes the realization that she’s gone. I press on, with the help of my wife, kids and grandkids as well as my faith in God!

re: Baton Rouge traffic…

I was born and raised in BR and decided to move away from the mess that it’s become. My family is originally from New Roads/Lakeland. Built on family land and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Doctors appointment in BR requires traveling across one of three bridges. I looked at the traffic maps before leaving. An 18 wheeler with an oversized load broke down on top of the old bridge about 20 or so cars in front of me. Missed my appt. but rescheduled while on the bridge. Thank goodness for cell phones.

Baton Rouge traffic…

Driving to Baton Rouge from the west side, for an appointment this morning and checked traffic so I would know which bridge to take…. The map showed the new bridge as RED, so I took the old bridge which was GREEN, but alas, here I sit (in park) on the top of the old bridge.

I was in Opelika, Alabama not long ago, and it’s a very beautiful place.

It is for a camp (mobile home) on a river, to mostly be used for recreation! Don’t think it’s going to be worth it for us!

Thank you! Too much of a gamble for our hard earned money!

The ad did not specify how long the land lease is guaranteed at the price listed. It was listed as a per year anmout. Also, it did not say to whom the land lease monies would be paid to. Definitely questions I would need to ask,
