In 1978 Kinder beat Curtis in the Semi Finals at West Jeff Stadium. It's Curtis' only loss in the Semi finals. The Patriots are 34-1 in Semi Final games. ...

GynoSandberg, I didn't say the valedictorian was a holdback. I said he started at Curtis in Pre K. This was to imply that he wasn't recruited. In fact he didn't stay back. He earned an athletic scholarship to Tulane but had an academic scholarship offer as well.

In regards to Curtis vs Winnfield, the Patriots and Tigers have a little playoff history. They first met in the 1979 Semi Finals. From what I hear, it was a classic. The Tigers had Ricky Chatman and Jeffery Dale among other great athletes. The Patriots won a close one.
