I basically agree on all points. The bottom line is that we have to play better football. We still haven't put all the pieces together, but we are still 4-0. Outside of Florida, Bama, and Texas there hasn't hardly been a team that can claim that.
I prefer being 4-0 LSU than any of the 3-1 teams. We are not a great football team, but winning is better than losing. Just ask Ole Miss and Arkansas. Again, we have to get better. I am also waiting to see that fire and excitement that I have yet to see.
The only part I somewhat disagree is calling the previous games "preseason". I understand it is hard to get excited about playing Moo State in Starkville, in the rain at 11:20 in the morning, but that's a football players job. Regardless, we got through the first 4 games without a loss. An SEC game should never be considered "preseason". The competition is no longer an excuse. It's time for LSU to play LSU football.
To the guy that claims MSU outplayed LSU...you have got to be kidding? If you really think this is true, you don't know the game of football. :spank:

No Towelie, you don't have to be rich to be a real fan. My point was that the fans that only care about the "big/good" games are not true fans. If you chose to skip the LA Tech game because you just don't care, but die to go to Florida, you are not a real fan. You are only a fan when it REALLY REALLY counts. If you chose not to go to Seattle because you can't afford it/can't take off of work, that is a valid choice. You can be a real fan and watch from home, but real fans wouldn't piss on those going, they would encourage them to be loud and proud to take up your slack.
And yes, it is clear to me that LSU is the only school that has fans that sells tickets. We should be banned by the NCAA and have to sit the year out. It doesn't happen anywhere else!

Why are some LSU fans such jackasses? Lester, you aren't a fan of big cities, we get that. So regardless of who we play, you don't want to go to a big city. That's fine, but quit shitting on the LSU fans that care enough to travel across the country to cheer on the Tigers. Unlike most fans, I don't chose the "good" games to go to, I go to all of them. That's what real fans do. If LSU quit scheduling decent road games and scheduled more N Texas home games, because of lack of support on the road, you would be the first one whining that LSU is scared to play anybody. If you don't want to go that is fine, just quit acting like it is a stupid idea to go because you don't want to/can't afford to.
Bailout? Every week someone joins our group. It started out as 4 of us and has grown to 30. So there are some tickets for sale so everyone is bailing? Wow, I guess college football is going under then. I just went on StubHub and was able to buy season tickets for every top school, including Bama, Florida, Texas and OU. I guess those places better close down the stadiums! Congrats on flaming the board and stirring up some fans, most of us know there will be a great contingent of Tiger fans in Seattle, so there is no use trying to convince other jackasses of this.
If you are going to Seattle, see you there! If not, quit shitting on those of us going and wish the Tigers well. :geauxtigers:

I guess this thread is going to be started after every basketball game?
It would be much easier to accept the fact he is the Voice of the Tigers and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

First, I went to the game and was impressed with the actual crowd in attendance, maybe that was not shown on TV, but it was the best crowd I have seen in come time. The students can't be blamed anymore than your average ticket holder though.
Secondly, to the guy complaining about ticket prices, GET REAL! LSU offered season tickets for $100. That's 21 games for $100, and for all of those that complain about TAF, there was no donation required to get those tickets. Those tickets were also guaranteed at $100 for 5 years. For those that will find a way to complain about that, if any of you would go to the PMAC, you can get a ticket (likely for free) outside the door 30-15 minutes before tip-off. There are several fans outside offering tickets just to get people in the seats.
For those that don't go to the games, it is your own fault! Don't blame LSU for not knowing how to "market" their basketball team, blame yourself for being to damn lazy to get off the couch.
Attendance will pick up as the season goes on and the team proves they are worth going see (for those that only support a winning team). Overall I was actually impressed in the crowd and happy to see a good team wearing purple and gold.

I can't delete any comments, not even my own. Sorry. But I did respond.
Actually Mr. Longhorn, post away. Trust me it's a user error, not me deleting them. I was pretty disappointed that I have not been called an idiot or threatened to be beaten up yet!
I would say he is higher than Petey.

re: Gonzales restaurants

I remember a little Mexican Restaurant "Careaux's" that was only open for a little while, but had the best Mexican food. Huge portions and cheap prices. I really wish those guys would have stayed in business. I heard the restaurant was getting in the way of LSU athletics. If so, smart people.

Warrick Dunn
He has returned to do alot of things for the poor in Baton Rouge, but Baton Rouge did just as much for him and his family when his mother was killed. I don't hate the guy, but I dislike the fact that Baton Rouge took the kid under its wing and he headed off to Florida State.
And those that say he wanted to get away so it's ok for him blah blah blah, that could be the same reason some of the others left the state. It's not about hating a person I don't know, but it sure does suck when you see home-grown talent leave after helping keep the guy on track to make MILLIONS!

You forgot one, J.O.B.
You seem to throw that in there now. It wasn't a concern of your original post! Now all of a sudden you didn't make it because of your job? I was going to have to come back to work Monday regardless of the outcome, so I went up there knowing if we played for the NC I would have to come home. And how do you know the outcome of a game before it happens? That's why you go, you never know when you may witness an "amazing" game.

These seem to be very mediocre reviews of the CWS experience.
The ice cream was good? wtf..
Bars close at 1 ?
Nice lady at a lemonade stand?
I think the best seat in the house is the couch/recliner in BR. It's cheap, effective, dry, without sun in my eyes...and the fajitas and steak from whole foods tasted great. I could even have a few beers during the game, and the john was only a few feet away.
FAIL!
If price, sun, a steak, beers, and toilet only steps away is what you consider before experiencing Tiger athletics in person...you are NOT a true Tiger fan! There is nothing better...and I mean nothing better...than traveling with the Tigers and watching them in person. Whether it is in cold rain or a comfortable night, true Tiger fans appreciate being there. You should head over to the Tulane board Greenie Weenie!
I agree with the original poster in the positives. All the locals were very friendly and talkative. I never heard anything bad about the fans of LSU, or any other school. We met up with some ACC fans that couldn't believe the number of LSU fans there. It was a great sight to see all the purple and gold, whether they were Louisiana folks or bandwagoners, who cares!
The rain delay wasn't bad for us because we were able to get some grandstand seats under the pressbox for face value. Alot of the "locals" left during the delay, so we were welcoming in people to sit and get out of the rain. I am sure my feelings would have been different if I was out in left or right field. It sucked that it took them that long to call the game, but after that drive, we weren't leaving. Also, the PA announcer gave NO info or updates. Thanks to text messaging I was kept informed by people at home watching.
We had a great time, Zesto's was a nice little hole in the wall and the ice cream was good. I honestly don't know what I would do for a week in Omaha though. There are several casinos (including Harrah's and Horseshoe) right across the river in Iowa (7 minute drive from Rosenblatt), but I don't see how Tiger fans spend the entire 12-13 days there. Another bad thing is the bars close at 1! This really sucked with the rain delays pushing back the games, I think we got 1 good hour of drinking in after the games. The bars close at 2 in Iowa, so I guess it's better to go to the casinos after the game. Overall, we had fun, I would recommend everyone at least experience it.
Hopefully I will be returning next year! :geauxtigers:

You Les haters say Les is fueling the fire? I think YOU are the one's fueling the fire! Les has made his comments and moved on! You are telling Les to shut up? I think he did, you are the one's that continue to bash him and bring it up! If the media didn't say anything about the phone call then it wouldn't be a big deal. All the DFP did was say there was a phone call. Was that necessary? It seems they want to fuel the fire! Les haters will hate him regardless. Stop acting like you need reasons. If he doesn't say anything you say "He needs to end these rumors", if he says something you say "he needs to shut up!" The poor guy will never win so stop acting like you "want" to like him but he is messing that up! Just come out and say "I hate Les and always will". At least then us Les supporters will know what postings to skip over and which ones to read. :geauxtigers:
