Care to elaborate on your buyer? As stated, I have never sold, but If he/she is buying less $2.50 of spot, that seems very fair to me.
Longtime Luker here,

Over the last few years I've been picking up and hoarding scrap gold & silver (chains, rings, bracelets, etc.). Many pieces would probably not be considered "scrap" to some, but I'm not a jewelry person so I consider them scrap...some pieces even have real diamonds...such as gold rings and one nice tennis bracelet with pretty decent size diamonds.

Anyway, I'm looking to sell off some to put towards a vehicle for my son. I have roughly 150g of 10k, 100g 14k, 7g 18k and a little over 3 pounds of sterling & .925 silver. I have never sold precocious metals, so my question is how much can one "realistically" expect to get per gram, and who is the most reputable/honest buyer locally (Greater BR area)? Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for that information! It did belong to the original owner, but he passed away a while ago. I am just helping the family sell some of his assets. It was not in the original packaging, but it was packaged rather well along with a pretty nice pioneer reverb amplifier. He has a lot more stuff like this but I thought this was the coolest! I sell a lot, but this is the first time selling something like this so I was hoping to get some little nuggets of information along the way. I have joined several audiophile groups for just that reason. Thanks again for your input.
It's kinda like "market price" at a restaurant, if you need to see a price you should probably not be buying it! This is a rare piece (given the condition) so the "value" of something like this is going to be based on purchaser. If I put a price on it I could sell myself short or overshoot it all together. Someone really interested will know what this goes for and make a reasonable offer. I have done market research so I have a pretty good idea of what they go for, but to be honest none that have seen for sale have been in as good of shape as this one.
I know buy/sell is considered taboo on TD (aside from tickets), but I have the opportunity to sell a piece of audio history and was hoping someone on TD would be interested (or know someone interested). The piece I am selling is a Teac A-5300 reel-to-reel recorder/player. This thing is in pristine shape and sounds absolutely amazing! This was my first time hearing reel-to-reel sound and it is definitely some of the cleanest I have ever heard.

This place and ima say probably not even close!

They just reopened today after a month vacation. Had it for lunch and it was fantastic as always.

Went there last week with a massive craving for their birria tacos. Pulled on the door without even noticing the sign, then I pretty much felt my soul leave my body when I read "closed until further notice". I'm stoked to hear they are back open. I will definitely be having that for lunch tomorrow!

Are they still on the menu? They haven't been the last couple of times I have been.

I went to the Brusly location not too long ago and they were on the menu. I know many moons ago they were just an appetizer, but at some point over the years they moved them to the main menu, changed up the ingredients, and paired them with red beans and rice to make a super carb overload meal (boudin wrapped in a flour tortilla served with red beans and rice) which is probably why I like it so much...yep I'm a fatty, but a happy fatty.
I really like the Cajundillas. Not necessarily because of the taste (which I do like) but more so because its something different than all the other common items they have on the menu. A lot of people shite on Walk On's, but for the type of establishment they have become, I think their food is pretty damn good...One thing I don't care for though is their damn beer prices! I don't understand how they get away with charging $9-$12 per pint when other places average around $7-$8 for the same beer.
My financial institution no longer offers this service and a few places I have called said they only provide this service to their members. Anyone know of any places around the Baton Rouge area where I can go today to get a MSG? TIA
From the most general aspect, I am Looking for someone who can review a business acquisition agreement to ensure I am not overlooking anything that could become a liability later on. More specifically, I would like this person to be familiar with Tax laws (ERISA & IRC) as they relate to c-corporations and the ROBS process. I would need this person to also review my business plan and provide guidance to help ensure my plan does not/will not violate any provisions set forth by state, local, and federal governance.

As for a CPA, ideally I would like to find someone who has experience with the ROBS process. Given that this is not a very common situation I know my options will be limited, so just a good reputable local person/firm would be great.
I'm looking for a business attorney and CPA (or possibly someone who is well versed in both disciplines) in or around the Ascension Parish area. I know I could easily search the Ole Google, but figured I would reach out to the MT crowd first in hopes of getting a recommendation from someone based on personal experience. TIA

. It's always been either a franchise purchase, or the purchase of an existing business

This is what I am looking to do.

One more question...I read something that made it sound as if the business (post purchase) would have to be my primary job. Does that sound right? I do not plan to quit working full time. Albeit, I likely will not work for my current employer for the remainder of my career, but I do plan to continue working for a few more years or at least until the business proves to be successful.
Thanks for the explanation!

I guess the key will be determining if the return rate of the business will be greater than the long term return on the money I withdraw. There are definitely a lot of factors that will need to consider!

Anyone familiar with ROBS

401(k) business financing, also known as Rollovers for Business Startups (ROBS), is a small business and franchise funding method. ROBS allows you to draw money from your retirement account in order to start or buy a business without incurring an early withdrawal fee or tax penalty.

I am currently exploring finance options to purchase a small business and came across this option. At first glance it seems to be a decent idea but appears there are some strict guidelines that must be followed to qualify.

Anyone here familiar with this option and/or have gone through the process? I would love to hear some personal experiences (good or bad).
Take a short ride across the bridge to Ocean Springs and check out the food scene there. They have some great places to eat and drink in the downtown area. One of my favorites places is Craft Advisory Brewing.

Don't knock this until you try it...I did and immediately ate crow after trying them!

combine old bay, sugar, and cayenne pepper (~85:15 old bay to sugar and maybe a tsp. of cayenne, I don't really measure). Toss the wings in the mixture and grill until done. Just before you take them off the grill hit them with fresh lemon juice.

Again, when my friend first made these I turned my nose up at them, but was pleasantly surprised at how good they were and now that's my go to recipe for grilled wings.

re: Oxtail

Over the last year or so I have been experimenting a lot with Oxtails and by far the best dish I have made with them is an Oxtail Osso Buco. This dish is typically made with Veal shanks, but the Oxtail makes for an excellent substitute. Here is a link to just one of the recipes, but my suggestion would be to look at a few different recipes and pick the one that looks best to you.
