That's just great...the sport that already has issues with too many games being played, and with smaller rosters, etc. will now have more games against difficult teams and more games overall for the top teams.

Will it take two teams playing 3rd string QBs in the championship game to make the decision-makers realize that more isn't always better? No, because that would require them to check their greed.
That's pretty disturbing, but I get it, it's tRant.

It’s been awhile so I may be wrong. I believe one of the sticking points was Big 10 only offered partial payments to new members. Missouri wasn’t inclined to pursue if other options were available.

You are not wrong.

Nebraska didn't get full share of media revenue until year seven

They're about to get swept at home by a team that coming in was 0-24 in the SEC

And were outscored 23-8 in the process.
The obsession on this board with a "non-rival" is in full swing here.

My lord, take the rest of the day off.

Why just one or the other? That guy deserved both.

In other words it would be like getting shut out by Mizzou in football.

Stupid comment. Mizzou had a top 20 scoring defense last season.

Yes, it's bad.

Sam was too small for a defensive end and wasn’t fast enough to be a worth while OLB ala Jihaad Campbell.

He went nearly undrafted because he had the least desirable measurables for a 3-4 lineman of like….all time.

Some that may be true, but he had a productive preseason with the Rams and was still cut. The locker room distraction issue was very much a piece of Sam's situation. Not all of it, but it wasn't a non-factor, either.

Half of the NFL fans are dallas fans, and 1/3 of them are new Colorado fans

And for 30 yrs the media has placated to that demographic

So I don't know if they are mocking anyone anymore, as much as they are just marching to the drum beat they created

THIS.

1) Hype up a guy because he has a famous, loud-mouthed, self- and son-promoting father, because people are drawn to that kind of thing like flies to sh*t.
2) Play up the outrage and conspiracy angle when their overhyped player isn't drafted at the level the hype would suggest, because people are drawn to that as well.
3) Generate lots of ad revenue as a result, which is the whole point for that industry.

This is just mass media doing what it does.

Lordy the blue states just don't arrest anyone anymore.

Another way to think of it is that places like Louisiana lock up more people than anybody else per capita, and then they still have to lock up more the next year, and the year after that. Obviously that approach isn't working.

North Dakota State had half as many first rounders at the 18 team ACC and the 16 team "Big" 12.

7 catches for 82 yards is hardly "disappeared." Facts are your friend.

Most of the food southerners like is really bad.

If Mizzou doesn't fit the "culture" of the league, so be it. All the better, in fact.

Calling someone "baw" is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

With that being said, I will say something good: As far as the sports themselves, this league is head and shoulders above the Big 12 and every other conference. So many sports are SEC-dominated. Just off the top of my head, and there are more:

Football
Men's basketball (this season wasn't a fluke)
Baseball
Softball
Gymnastics

Wease had no issues improving his production (catches and yards) with the QB situation. Both saw a regression in TDs.

It seemed to me that teams were willing to let Theo get the ball rather than Luther. It looked like they were scheming to stop Burden first and foremost. I'm no expert on the X's and O's, however. Folks who understand the X's and O's well, what do you think?

Someone will end up signing him, but I have serious doubts he'll end up getting more than the $2.4 million that Tennessee agreed to pay him. There's no way in hell he's getting the $4 million he was asking for.

Fix the unrestricted portal

Pro sports don't do unrestricted to this extent because they know it would destroy the product.

They also have a lot more legal clout than the NCAA does.
