Delaney is an idiot.

But things are moving forward. He said a few months ago that he wanted to add a 12th team and a conference title game.

Slowly but surely the Big Ten will accept a playoff. Just like the Pac Ten and Big Ten slowly accepted the BCS

No insult intended, just a statement of fact in response to a rather arrogant comment about how "Michigan recuruits itself". Yes that is rather obvious with all of the team size, strength and speed versus most SEC schools. We can all "clearly see" how well it recruits itself againt most of our elite prorams!

Most big traditional schools do recruit themselves man. Schools like SC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, etc.
In regards to Michigan vs the SEC, we've beaten Arkansas, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama in bowl games since 1999.
Not sure what you're trying to say here.

I sense some negativity towards Les.

Funny how you were starting "rallys" for him last week and now want to run him out of town.

So who gets more blame, Pelini or Les?
Meh.

I'm okay with Ferentz. I'm not sure how Les Miles would do up here.
From what i've seen, he's made some questionable decisions this season.

You mean like it did with Jai Eugene?

Not sure if this is supposed to be some insult. Jai stayed home, good for him. He's trying to be a good father and stayed close with his kid.
Jai is a good football player.

Damn, his legend must be pretty exaggerated then. For some reason I thought he won like multiple championships

It is. He's a hero in the midwest because it was really the first time in American sports where the student beat the teacher.
Bo played under Woody, than coached under him too. After he was hired, he finished with a winning record vs Woody and beat Ohio State's proclaimed best team ever.

well your AD said he wanted a Lloyd clone so I guess hiring another mediocre Big 10 coach was the next best thing

Meh. A mediocre coach who has shared 2 Big Ten titles with bad talent.
Not to mention bowl wins over powers like Florida and LSU
Bo never won a national title.
Several times we were in position to win titles but, choked against either Ohio State or in the Rose Bowl
Ferentz' daughter goes to Michigan. Kirk himself was born in Michigan.

His son is a HS Senior, who has verbally committed to Iowa. If Kirk came here, the kid would likely go to Michigan ala Dan Hawkins kid Cody.
For the ones questioning Ferentz' coaching ability, he has done a remarkable job at Iowa.

Michigan in a way, recruits itself. We've hired several assistants from outside of Michigan who have helped us recruit nationally. For example, DC Ron English, a former Cal player who has really helped Michigan bring in top recruits like Donovan Warren.

2005 Capital One Bowl. I know it was a fluke play at the end but, Iowa out played a much much much more talented LSU team for 3 quarters.

I think Kirk is a good coach.

Yep, but kinda scary for you guys that Carr is still going to have that much of a hand in the program? Just asking?

Lloyd Carr brought Michigan a national title. Not even Bo could manage that.
I like Lloyd. He's a good man and good recruiter. He's a terrible game day coach and we don't have to worry about that anymore.

So it wasn't a hoax played by some Iowa fans on your rivals board?

From what scouts and mgoblue are reporting now, nope.

Update on Michigan coaching search

Take it for what it's worth but, strong rumors afloat in Michigan that Iowa's Kirk Ferentz has been offered the head coaching job and will accept it.

Scouts, Rivals, and Michigan's best online source, MGOBLUE are all reporting on the story.

Take it for what it's worth. I'm sure many of you will be glad if this comes true.
Les stays in Baton Rouge.

well at least in the way that they make the maize and blue their own personal rose bowl bitches

As childish as this is, you're right. They beat us twice.
Does this stem from 2003, where we might have cost you the outright national title by losing to USC?
I hope not, because we did LSU a huge favor that season by beating Ohio State, who was ranked #2 in the BCS and would've gone to the NC game.
Didn't you get Jim Harbaugh's memo? Michigan's academic standards are much lower than thought.

Okay i'm stupid because, I totally misread that quote from the article.

Sorry.
Interesting article:
LINK

Our AD says "He said that a large buyout would likely not turn him off of a candidate. He said he’s also not adverse to waiting a few weeks, as the decision is of a magnitude that its going to reverberate for years."

Oh great, reminiscing of the past.

You and the bammer should get along great.

It was a cheap shot on my part, i'll admit. It's always good to get a shot in on a Bammer.

Another great thing for the Big Ten was Zook becoming HC at Illinois.
He's recruiting tremendous athletes and I think they'll rip through the conference next year.

This will force the likes of Michigan to actually start recruiting some speed on defense.
