There are good and bad in most parts of the horse world but I've found cutting people to be the most welcoming to someone new to the sport of any of the disciplines. Its not the most well known. Most people mix cutting up with penning or sorting. If you want to see an amazing cutting horse working look up the horse 'Hashtag' cutting world finals ft worth. That's an amazing cutting horse working.

So far I haven't seen any cutting on the show. Like one of the other people here mentioned, its mostly reining on the show. Cutting is 2 1/2 minutes of keeping a cow out of the herd while your herd helpers push the cow back into the herd (simplification but basically). You do very little running. If you are doing what you're supposed to, you and the horse hold the cow in the center of the pen. Its mostly hard stops and starts.

I'm excited to see if they actually show any cutting.
