Outside of last season (defense was solid and got us to the CFP only because of the NFL guys we had) our defense under banks has been terrible,
To your question - the question you're asking is the same question all of our fans are asking which is why we are frustrated with Heupel - if he can't fire his assistants (friends) and hire what is needed to field a competent defense - it will be his fat arse that gets fired.

I don't troll or rarely ever post (because I know Tennessee will find a way to make me eat crow).
Anyway, I am very happy how our program stood up to the Hawaiian mafia and now he is in a shite hole situation making half as much for a 2-10 team..
But so are we - our fans are celebrating this new Joey Aguilar commitment only because we are low key hurt. Lets be honest.. it's like breaking up with your hot girl friend and no matter what your rebound looks like - you will lie to yourself and in your mind think you upgraded..We didn't.
Dissappointed we couldn't throw some moonshine money and get an established P4 QB.
Moral of the story is what the hell has happened to the best sport in America? I am just not excited anymore - College sports needs structure now because this bs is going to drive away the common man. NBA brand died with the woke BS - college football is next with the wild west prima dona bullshite.

While I am bummed that our season is now a wash - I am damn proud to be a Vol right now and not get held hostage. Hope all of you have great seasons I just don't care anymore. Our sport is ruined

I rarely post on here but I'm fed up right now. Not just because the "guy" to bring Tennessee back to contender is entering the portal when we are already overpaying him - but because no one gives a frick about the name on the front of their jersey anymore.
I hate South Carolina - but I thought what Juice did last season was bs
I hate Ole Miss - but I thought what Judkins did was bs
I could go on and on but how can we invest our time and money into a product that doesn't care about your program and also players you grow to love as they develop are on 1 year "contracts"
Not going to get into Nico and why his camp is incompetent - I am just not excited in general anymore CFB. I use to love national signing day and recruiting but now I could care less about what recruits are coming in (we have the number #1 qb next year) but guess what... he will probably "hold out" and leave too.
Bryce Underwood hates Michigan - loves LSU - Michigan offered him a ridiculous amount of money and that is why he isn't going to LSU - not because he likes that progam better,
Laugh all you want at us Vols today - but I guarantee you it will be you at some point as well. I hate all of you - but I hate what is happening to our beloved sport even more. We need structure.

Outside of football season what business will this resort get? Not taking a shot at bama but for any college town in general - the tourist season is limited to 6-7 weeks a year. Seems like a bad business model

I mean we won 11 games in year 2 under our new coach and transfers are starting to roll in - so yes we do have momentum and that is all I can ask for considering what the 3 clowns before Heup did to our program.
As a Tennessee fan - I want coach Cal to be at UK forever. I hate UK with a passion but their fans deserve way better. They need a coach that cares about championships and not how many players I can send to the NBA

No. We have a generational talent that is now on campus at QB in Nico - this will not be a 1 or 2 year wonder. We coming puppy dawgs - see you in Neyland next season so you can get the Bama treatment we gave them this season

Considering our 4 best players didn't play due to injury or opt out - I just wanted us to be competitive. We beat their sorry ACC arse with our scout team. Dabo is done if he doesn't have a generational talent at QB.
That basketball win was UGLY - you guys are some fighters. I know we have some annoying trolls on this board which makes people here hate UT more than they actually do, but us beating Clemsons arse was a win for the SEC not just us. Dabo is exposed and hopefully done
