re: Everybody laugh at auburn

It’s not a bad idea to do this. That chant has destroyed many good pitchers. When the game is intense and it gets going, it’s quite possibly one of the worst things you can experience in sports because as a pitcher you can’t hide from it. You’re all alone on the mound and you’re hearing a deafening call for more balls in unison from the crowd.
I’m not sure you can even recreate this from just the noise.

I love the inference that Ohio State and other Big 10 schools didn't have rogue boosters who paid players before NIL. Just the SEC. You do realize that back then everybody cheated but Texas...
The fact that Indiana was a bottom feeder that turned it around to thoroughly and now has money for NIL pouring out of their ears lends credibility to the fact that money was the reason OSU and Michigan dominated the Big 10. Those schools paid money, but Indiana did not. Now other schools can and just watch, you’ll see the OSU and Michigan start crying about a lot. Indiana is not the only other school with money too, the Big 10 potential is like the SEC, most of them have money.

1000 times better. Synder started this scourge of scheduling non-con cupcakes to pad his record. The trend Cignetti has started is offering veteran 4th and 5th year players. shite half his team might be fathers.
He’s shown the correct model moving forward. Just watch, you’re going to see championship teams be a lot older than they used to be. That age difference matters, a lot in terms of discipline and experience.
Outside of a very rare few players, an experienced 3 star with 5 years of experience is going to be better than a 5 star freshman. 5 additional years of strength and fitness training and learning skills. Anyone who thinks this doesn’t matter is delusional.
re: Are the services ever going to be able to issue even decently reliable transfer rankings?
Posted by BAP Enthusiast on 1/8/26 at 11:43 am to Hugh McElroy
No way, it’s impossible. Think of a good solid program and what their player evaluation team looks like now. It’s dozens of people at this point. An individual school basically rivals the amount of evaluators these services have and frankly if these guys were any good at their job, they would be working for a school getting paid a lot more to do it.
They don’t have the manpower or the know how to evaluate transfer players at all. Transfer rankings are worse than useless.

Both the PI and defensive holding were legitimate. Only the missed facemask was egregiously bad.

Sark is right, it’s the biggest shitshow free for all I have ever seen. Even with a full time GM, you can’t possibly hope to deal with any of this. It doesn’t work.

I’ll admit it. I like have OU in the SEC. Texas too damn it.
Hated losing to Texas but I like having both of them in the SEC. The amount of good games every Saturday is fantastic now. The 4 way split screen is an absolute must every week because of it.

He’ll remember it sure, but this was a team meltdown. Everyone contributed to it. No one will remember his kicks but they will remember Mateer’s pick 6 and other errors.
re: 16 teams ... no byes

I don’t like the byes because of how long the teams have off. That’s enough time to get rusty. Two weeks off is much better.
re: Top 10 “Teams” Avg TV Viewership 2025
Posted by BAP Enthusiast on 12/5/25 at 6:28 pm to OU Guy
Not really that surprising. My impression of the B1G is that fans of each team only watch their own team and watch nothing else whereas SEC fans tend to watch as many SEC games as they can in addition to their own.
It’s not so much a conference pride thing as it is that SEC fans just love college football that much more whereas the B1G fans aren’t nearly as fanatic about the sport beyond their own school.

Should’ve let me post that while they all think I’m not an Aggie. Psst, your bias is showing.
He’s right and this is hurting you and Vandy too. Both of y’all would have gone undefeated in a lesser conference, but because of the SEC grind, you are punished for it.
Unlike other conferences, bad teams in the SEC have an immense amount of athletic and highly ranked talent so even when they are playing poorly, they can always elevate their play for a game or two a season and play to their full potential like Florida with you guys or South Carolina with us and Alabama.
Something like this would never happen in the Big 12 or ACC. A team with consistently highly ranked talent will never be challenged by a team with low ranked talent in this manner barring a miracle.
Does this mean I think Texas and Vandy should be in the playoff too? Yes I do and the standards they are being held to is ridiculous.
There is a clear anti-SEC bias now in their formulas.

Clemson + UNC could allow us to move to a 5 perm + 4/4/4 schedule..
That wouldn’t be so bad.
I would guess A&M would add Arkansas and South Carolina (best rivalry game ever ™) as permanent rivals in that case.

I have learned my lessons BAS, I won’t be expecting or hoping anymore. I will take it one game at a time, please don’t hurt me.

Several bad ones this year. Texas, Kentucky, LSU, Auburn. Florida most days.
There are some historically bad offenses this year. Randomly one of these offenses will go nuts though because they all have the athletes to do it. That’s why it’s scary playing any of them. If they turn it on, you’re going to be in a shootout.

We also can’t beat Ole Miss nor LSU, but OU can hold their own against Tennessee, Auburn, and Bama. It is what it is.
These things can turn around quickly though. We couldn’t beat LSU for years but now we’ve won 3 of the last 4.
Football appears to be more streaky than any other sport in this regard.

That fatass don’t eat soup. He will snack on boudin 5 times a day before he fricks around with soup. Slurp it up like a bag of Cheetos
A Heupel gumbo would be a pile of seafood and potato salad with a small amount of broth. He would use a spoon with slits to ensure nothing but guts. His potato salad quantity would of course equal the amount of gumbo. Every bowl would come with a loaf of garlic bread.

Difference being ESPN doesn’t parrot anything that Liucci says. ESPN gave the hype the weight of national media, not homer pundits.
You would think they would learn by now that those guys don’t have the level of access Liucci has and they often make things up as a result. Unfortunately, that’s the state of modern media now where no one cares about factual data. ESPN does the same thing on their end so integrity isn’t really that high of a concern for them.

Don't most programs have those guys? I mean, you guys have Lucci. He's every bit as big a homer as Ketch.
He’s a homer sure, but he’s more realistic and not delusional pie in the sky hilarity that you see often with the comparably uninformed Texas pundits. Liucci has unparalleled access to the program that virtually no one else has while guys like Ketch are basically locked out because the Texas program does not allow that kind of access. This creates a problem wherein the hype runs uncontrolled and gets way out of proportion.
I mean Texags hypes things up a lot but I’ve rarely seen anything like predicting Heismans before the season begins like what Ketch and others do.
