It's always a good sign when they say it was about the Lambo.

For some perspective though, several big name schools are losing significant numbers to the portal.

A pretty dumb measure of this.

Bowl games are probably the worst measure of Conf A vs Conf B. Particularly during this era of opt outs, portal entries, etc. The teams that actually end up on the field are not the same teams from the season.

Using Texas as an example, they were missing 9 starters and 3-4 others from the two-deep. Most bowl teams were dealing with something similar.

What would be a better measure is an “SEC vs Big 10” in Week 3, where 16 teams from each go head to head. I’d really like the SEC’s chances in something like that.
I didn’t realize how many intermediate throws he made to the TE.

They should’ve waited to give out the Heisman that year until after that game. So much star power.

FWIW when Bush was stripped of the Heisman they offered it to VY and he said “nah that’s Reggie’s…”

I was just told that he wanted $$$ that Texas wasn't willing to pay him. That seems to make more sense as to why he's leaving. I also think he's going to end up at Indiana where he will blossom under really good coaching that he didn't get here.

Bobby Burton is a reliable source and says he turned down $600K. I liked Livingstone and honestly would prefer him over the Auburn kid. But he’s leaving for money. Already has visits with IU and OU scheduled.

Apparently they wanted someone better. Tough look though when the QB can't stand up for his roommate

Don’t be such a dumbass, or at least don’t talk out of your arse.

He was offered $600K and a scholarship to play football at Texas and it wasn’t enough for him. That’s what’s “out of his control.”

Way to go Rebs! Congrats and great game!

You should NOT deserve a bye unless you have played a schedule that’s worth a damn. Ever.

Agree w Sneezy. SOS has to count for something and media bias is real.

And I say this as a Texas fan whose team started the season ranked #1 solely due to the idiots in the media.

Rankings shouldn’t even begin until Oct 1 at which time they should be spit out by a computer.

That Bama team quit today and Simpson was the head quitter in charge.

I can’t remember a Bama team quitting like that

That's Alabama football - Nick Saban.

Can everyone apply? Asking for a friend.

lol. Absolutely, get on in here Arkansas! We’re needing a major restructuring!

Texas has to beat Georgia for their application to be reviewed

Agree 100%. We’re out buying a new suit for the interview though! :)
Bull$hit. No way Saban is coming back to deal with this mess.
OU is the one I had the biggest problem with. Especially as an 8 seed. They were maybe a top 15 team on a good day.

I don’t think ND or Texas got “screwed”, but OU making the playoffs was a perfect argument for why we don’t need 12 teams making it.

But yeah punish the team that went 3-2 against the top 15 teams in America

From week to week I had no idea what offense or defense would show up. The team that cratered in 4th quarter bs Georgia or the one that trounced Aggy.

This never was going to be our year. Something like 12-13 starters lost to NFL and poor management of portal. A new OL and QB.

Finished strong though and next year could be interesting; depends on if Sark learned anything.

Texas, what a great place.

Feel free to stop recruiting our Texas high school players anytime.

Also it’s 2:24 PM in a new year and OU still sucks!

Both tech and Oregon are every bit as good as the ags or the longhorns. You can't be serious

You’re easily impressed. Neither look that stout and especially Tech.

In Tech’s defense they are being hurt by the layoff. The bowl games have always been about which team does a better job on the 3-4 week layoff.
I know it’s a tired take but there’s no way in hell they would’ve made it through SEC schedule unscathed.

And fwiw I think Texas and likely Aggies would beat both Tech and Oregon
I’m pretty sure Texas was the most penalized team this year. Not because of unfairness but because they just aren’t disciplined.
