Very cool story. Poster says he worked at Ellington. That’s right where I grew up. Astronauts training in T-38s would fly right over my house.

I hope he scores 3 goals

Amen Brother, that would be epic.

One of the dumbest calls I've ever seen in sports was justifiably overturned.

Hate us!
It just the “all about me” generation/culture.

And would be a little anticlimactic if he just says he’s staying at Texas, so I fully expect a flip to LSU.

The bigger picture is that there was a time not too long ago that I’d actually give a crap about his decision. I truly and honestly could care less anymore as it’s all a revolving door anyway.
Interesting. Looks like we have some catching up to do!

Back in the big12 Texas fans used to chant “poor Aggies” so I was convinced they were just a hardscrabble program that tried to do more with less, like Oregon State.

Chant had nothing to do with money. Everything to do with aggy losing and blaming their mean bad big brother.

But for all intents and purposes A&M has as much money as Texas, big donors, links to oil money, etc. They were actually the first public university in Texas and UT came a few years later.

Great post. Congrats Sooners! Very well deserved.

I would be careful with that last one (A&M). They might pull some trickery and make it a softball field.

You're probably right about the concrete base, it was built in 1975 and similar era as the Astrodome, which had a concrete base and per NFL players felt like it when tackled.

The Disch has had turf since the beginning of time. Always hated it but I don’t think they’re going change it.

Football is apparently going back to grass

It’s called being secure with yourself.

And now its flipped. The older Mercurius relieves and younger Mercurius starts.

That’s nuts. But that’s actually what good coaching looks like, willing to think out of the box.

The SEC weekly grind is a real thing. Iron sharpens iron

You probably nailed the reason; all looks easy after that grind. Hell of a run. Hope y’all can close it out.

To start season only 1 was a freshman, and due to how things unfolded he went with youth during post seasin and its paying off.

Didn’t realize that and truly is amazing. Great story and hope y’all finish the job.

Impressive. Texas is similar to Florida in that they'll be competitive in just about every sport. I think Florida has 336 SEC titles. But Texas dwarfs Florida in endowment and overall resources. But until you win football, most Texas fans won't be satisfied. This year is likely your best chance.

100% correct my friend. As an OU fan you know exactly how this go at our schools.

Congrats to OU on making it to the finals! I’m actually happy to see Texas and OU doing so well in the conference that, prior to us joining, all the “experts” were saying would kill us and we wouldn’t be able to compete.

Is it miserable seeing your bitter rival one game away from a natty while you still have no (mens) trophies 6 years into an era where it’s legal to buy players??

Is it miserable for you that in two years in the SEC that Texas has won more conference championships (14) than any other SEC school?

SEC SEC SEC!

What is this shite?

Saw him doing that in person at the Supers. Wasn’t too long ago when a pitcher would put a ball in your ear for that kind of crap. I’m generally an “act like you’ve been there before” kind of guy and especially in baseball, but this is a generational thing that you’d never see 20 years ago.

Should be a catch but I'm guessing the rule is retarded

You were right

Nope, he’s a heretical unless you go to the gay Unitarian church with a rainbow flag flying over the altar.

Amen

I'm tired of getting kicking in the nuts by Georgia but why are they an "unlikeable team"?

I don't like the Oregons, USCs, UCLAs of the world. But that has more to do with how I feel about California in general.
