We might not be strong in the defense front 7 either, although that might change in a hurry for the better; we shall see.
This being an away night game, I suspect your head coach will have his team raring to go, and will unleash its frustrations on my Aggies team without remorse. Expect a thorough beat down. Perhaps 42-24. The line is LSU by 9.5 points, but it'll be more like two touchdowns or more. I will even predict my loser Aggies fanbase will find new and quixotic ways to reassure themselves that everything will be fine...

If revenue is your thing, at least measure revenue growth over time. If an AD at a smaller school has managed to raise revenue during his tenure then fine.
Better yet, if that increased revenue led to more winning and a demonstrably bigger profile for their university, that's where the AD earns his keep.
Practically anybody can keep a preexisting large ship floating. Perhaps that's why the Directors Cup leaderboard is the way it is.
Going by Directors Cup standings, Texas has been the winner and it's usually them or Stanford at the top, but for "revenue sports" doing the heavy lifting we all would probably give that to Texas.

In the last 10 years, Texas A&M misplayed the baseball coach position by letting a proven coach go to Austin and then only manage to get his hitting coach as the backfill.
And worse, letting a championship winning women's basketball coach stay on for far too long past his prime, frustrating his protege and A&M alum who eventually ended up at Austin, while A&M AD allowed Gary Blair to write his own retirement date, then hired a showy coach who has promptly shoved the program in the gutter and is not recognizable anymore from what Gary Blair built.

John "Loss" Smith was a blessing for the Aggies, generating the largest win margin for A&M in the Arkansas series in that 2012 game-- 58-10 W for A&M.
That 2012 game also started the longest win streak for A&M in the Arkansas series filled with exciting games but which Jimbo managed to lose in 2021. Before that 2012 game, Bobby Petrino was whipping the Ags.
For these reasons, from the Aggies fans' perspective, yea, John L Smith should be on this list. His 2012 Hogs team made me feel bad for Arky fans. In 2011, Arky was 11-2, 6-2 in SEC, and 5th ranked team in the country. In 2012, under John L Smith, Arky season was 4-8, 2-6 in SEC.

I don't know, I don't trust our strategy regarding the trigger man for the offense and also with promoting a WR coach to the OC with playcalling responsibilities.
A&M's OL hopefully is reloaded though those guys almost always take time to gel in order to play well together. And at the end of the day, does Marcel Reed have the grey matter between the ears to be a great QB, or will be continue to rely on his legs and throw multiple WTF pick 6s when he can't "fee" a rhythm early in a game?

yea, Ags get the W and I would never turn down a W. But that was an underwhelming performance.
For tomorrow, I'm hoping both USC and Texas State go into extra innings and we get USC; it would be less embarrassing to lose to them than to Texas State.
Shaky hitting lineup with someone like Wilson looking completely inept, while pitching is probably by committee rest of the way.
