re: Livingston Parish Sheriff Vote (early poll)

You do know that was due to an investigation that he conducted and his LT and his wife was aware. His old LT is the one who told his opponent in 2019. He couldn’t care less if it surfaces.

Ah.. there’s the personal attacks. To answer your question directly, no. But go find his Facebook page and you might find the answer to what you’re looking for.

Understood. He’s also hopeful that there will be a 3rd person that jumps in the race because perhaps there will be some legitimate debates.
Yeah I know, there’s no telling what I’ve missed on here. I’m legitimately a rookie. How do I get tiger droppings cred? :wah:

Ah, I see. Perhaps you are, maybe you’re not ;)
There is one element of this that you may not be considering. “LPSO friends” are very regulated in their speech. It’s a culture thing and you will get put in check quickly if you’re not saying the right things. So consider getting the a full perspective before just listening to some who have to speak a certain way or suffer the consequences.
He’s a nice guy, you should consider having a conversation with him and get the real reasons.

Understood. Do you know what his reasons for running are? Have you spoken to him about or are you assuming?

That’s one thing that he does bring that Ard can’t, a legitimate citizens perspective to the position which IS NEEDED. Without that, there will continue to be a lack of much needed transparency. Any sheriff that stands before the public and publicly shames another citizen of the parish for pointing out his failure to investigate Dennis Perkins shows the absolute prideful arrogance. That press conference was very revealing. Perhaps you should revisit it and you will see that that was not “public servanthood.” That was “I’m the sheriff and how dare you question me and attempt to hold me accountable.”

“I don’t have the kind set of wanting a career politician.”
Who’s more of a career politician, Ard or Browning considering that Ard will just be wrapping up 12 years as Sheriff in 2023?
“What I do see as a problem is a man who will keep running for office until he gets one.”
It seems like you saying that if someone wants to serve in the public in that capacity that they should just give up after the first attempt. Anyone who will give up after the first attempt didn’t want it bad enough and that’s not the sort of mindset that makes people great. I guess Michael Jordan should have quit after being cut from his High School team. Look at the Sharks on shark tank, go research them and see how many times they failed. If you want to take on the “Good Old Boy System,” you better come hard and keep coming because it will take a chipping away.

Let’s just say I know him very well. ;)

He’s also showed up to local events flying in on the LPSO chopper.

“No business having.” What makes you think he’s not qualified considering his background? Not to mention he’s been a student of Jocko Willink’s company for the last few years..

Competent? How is Brandon not competent?
Apparently the current administration thought he was qualified to some level. They are the ones that bumped him to a Sgt then to a LT. He has just as many years of LE experience or more as Ard did when he took office.
He ran for Assesor in 2019. His background is Law Enforcement. He resigned from the Sheriff’s Office at a LT with around 18 years. And since he has ran a parish wide race against a 20 year incumbent and got 44% of the vote, and has a popular podcast in Livingston Parish, I would say he’s got pretty good name recognition.

He left so his wife could be a stay at home home school mom. And he remained a reserve deputy until the Sheriff took his commission from him after he said something on a podcast that the Sheriff didn’t like.
