re: Louisiana Rt down to 0.58

It is the reproductive number (the number of people one infected person is anticipated to infect). If the Rt is 0.58, it means 100 infected people are anticipated to infect a total of 58 people, meaning that the overall cases should be trending downward significantly. Likewise, if Rt > 1, it means that the case numbers are trending upward.
This may be more location than state specific, but I'd say the libraries and DMV are better run than the ones where I lived in TX.

That’s not the main reason Texas thrives. That’s a myth in modern day. Texas government is very business friendly not just O&G related business either. That’s why Elon Musk chose Texas. That’s why HP chose Texas. Texas is not like the rest of the south.

Agreed. I think a big part of its success is due to Texas leaving it up to individual cities as to how to incentivize/retain those businesses. Also, Texas seems to proactively invest in infrastructure which can help a great deal in attracting businesses/talent, which then propagates to more tax revenue that can be used for further investment and the trend continues. Meanwhile, Louisiana seems to be going the opposite direction.....

Haha good one! Took me a bit. Guess now I know the answer to OT’s question.
Regardless of the garbage on the news, I always ask this question:
Would you rather have gone ahead and voted and have your candidate (Trump) win in a landslide or would you rather have felt confident that the candidate would win/not win, sit out on voting, and have your candidate lose. VOTE!
It irritates me that California/San Francisco has such natural beauty yet is run by absolute lunatics who seem to be purposely trying to tank the city/state.

So, how about one of the trailer parks in Lake Charles telling their tenants that if they don’t pay September rent they won’t allow adjusters to their mobile home
I'm pretty sure that'd be considered extortion. Also, it is despicable that's the first thing they are thinking of after a major hurricane has put severe financial strain on MANY people.
Also, from my understanding, transplants to Texas in particular are actually voting more conservatives than native-born Texans, including those from California. I read a study that said that more native-born Texans voted for Beto than Cruz.
The whole insurance system in LA needs to be gutted and rebuilt from the ground up. It still blows my mind that every time reforms are proposed to make the LA court systems more in line with those of pretty much every other state, that it is met with "well it might not make the rates go down." So every other state that has lower rates is just a coincidence and Louisiana is the lone exception. Frustrates me a lot.
