colt mccoy could win the heisman here though.
im pulling for nebraska. damn commercials
But you have to admit that something seems fishy.:

Tuhay(sp?) were boosters for Ole Miss and all, but the biggest thing to me is that his high school coach got a job at Ole Miss 20 days after he Ohr signed with them.

Something about the situation seems sleezy to me. I agree that money is not the motivation, but it just seems like there was some alterior motive. Maybe they are just attention whores, everyone in their community was giving them attention for taking him in and The book was written by Mr. Tuhoy's friend. but like someone said earlier, even if there was an alterior motive, it worked out the best for Ohr....and I am happy about that.
"Well obviously he screwed himself. However you're not going to be able to post this on a sports forum and not get people laughing at you."

Point well taken
"Perfectly stated. People hear us say things like we would miss all these family events and think we are inconsiderate pricks. The truth is we are only talking about 14 or so days out of the year. I am very close to my family and spend tons of time with all of them. The truth is they wouldn't even ask me to miss a game because they know how much I love it."

So your son or daughter never plans a sporting event or recital on the day or same time as an LSU game? How considerate of them.
I understand the point about your girlfriends friends wedding. But he has given his word and is standing by it, even though it is not what he wants to do. I think that makes him more of a man then standing her up after he has committed to something. No reason to question his manhood when he is doing what a man should do.

What gets me is those on here that think their family and even close friends should take the backseat to an LSU football game.
Football is just a game. It is one of my favorite hobbies and something I love to do. But family comes first. I know you are not married yet, but it seems to be heading that direction. FOr those of you who would not even attend a family members wedding bc they had to miss the LSU game, that is obsurd. I would hate to have to do it, but there are things in life that you have to do, even if it is not what you want to. I really hate it for those you that have children that they will not miss an LSU game for one of their functions. And for those of you that do not have kids yet, think about it, do you really think that you will be able to see every LSU game that comes on TV for the rest of your life?
