Because Boston is a rich state with great schools and a thriving industry?
Elect republicans for decades and all you get are shitholes like Louisiana where everyone smart leaves.

Ya know I'm happy for you, but not sure she'd approve of her picture being posted in this great group of Christian gentlemen who would never use a swear word

Well gee, wouldn’t it be great if there were more businesses open deemed essential by the government that could provide those goods?
You do realize all those businesses that provide essentials.... are open?

Really, remove the guy that has been director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984, in the middle of a world wide pandemic?

I really don't get it. If you look at the worst states in the nation, by poverty, mortality rate, brain drains, education, teen pregnancy etc, the bottom 15 are almost all deep red states that have been voting republican for decades.
Blue states, for the most part, have a robust economy, better health care, schools etc.
Where is all this hate coming from? All this dems must die rage? Its just mind boggling.

Lurker living in Northern California, theres no secret. The entire state started enacting lockdown procedures earlier than almost anyone. So despite having some of the first covid patiens in America, the state is relatively successful.
As soon as people started testing positive,
- Northern Californa big companies and businesses started voluntarily ordering their people to work from home en masses starting March 1st
- Officials ordered schools closed soon after
- Mayors around the entire San Francisco Bay Area went into shelter in place earlier than anyone.
- Soon after, the California governor ordered the entire state to shelter in place. Think it was among the first in the nation.
I had my doubts and trepidation when they first started shutting down, went on supply runs for food and home defense, but have to say the results have been amazing.
The emergency rooms actually have good capacity, the hospitals are using the time to get their gear and procedures in place, and the doctors are thanking the citizens for complying.
Sure theres some bad apples going en mass to parks here and there, but the vast majority of people are taking this seriously. Lots of volunteers mobilizing to help the elderly and disabled with shopping, and we're finding shelter for the homeless as well, working with the hotel industry.
Hopefully we can get this under control, and help other states soon.
