Professional

professional /pr?-fesh'?-n?l/
adjective
Of, relating to, engaged in, or suitable for a profession.
"lawyers, doctors, and other professional people."
Conforming to the standards of a profession.
"professional behavior."
Engaging in a given activity as a source of livelihood or as a career.
"a professional writer."
Performed by persons receiving pay.
"professional football."
Having or showing great skill; expert.
"a professional repair job."
The definition of professional is “performed by persons receiving pay”. College players are now by definition professionals. Why shouldn’t NFL players with remaining eligibility be able to move back down to college? Or should the eligibility period be waived or lengthened? Or should college teams be associated as minor league teams with specific NFL franchises as a way to raise additional NIL funds? It’s all stupid. The lines are so blurred as to not exist. Idiots have destroyed the sport.

Third Choice or later
Posted by Buyugurl on 11/29/25 at 8:54 am
Do not want Lane. Saban, Les and O were all clearly down the list of coaches pursued. Need to look at who our current third choice is and go get him. Thats all.

Welcome to the post-saban world, the “we could have”, “ we should have”, “ we are better” etc. You are no different than anyone else now. Welcome aboard. It’s a tough ride.

Today
It’s carried on the local fox station.
Dabo presser
Posted by Buyugurl on 9/2/25 at 10:28 am
Watching Dabo pc. He starts out calm then starts trashing his players, his OC, jumps on the press. That boy has lost his mind. Beautiful to behold.
Maybe the Iron Bowl if the players don’t quit.
Milroe needs to return
Posted by Buyugurl on 12/31/24 at 3:12 pm
He needs to regain his confidence and get his draft status back to where it was. He will likely dominate with another year in this system under that battle-tested, built for the SEC head coach and staff. I hope the kid returns.
re: Milroe wasnt the problem at alabama
Posted by Buyugurl on 12/31/24 at 3:07 pm to Sid E Walker
If all 4 losses are on Milroe then you just proved the point: its Deboer. He’s the coach, he’s the one who put in the plan and watched it unfold and did nothing to change it. Not Milroes problem.
Hope for BAMA whiners
Posted by Buyugurl on 1/18/24 at 7:52 am
Orgeron left LSU in a shambles and BK inherited only 39 players. He didn’t whine, he didn’t cry about the rules he just went out and beat Saban in his first year and won the SEC West. I’m sure Kaitlyn can do the same. You should not be concerned. There is precedence.

A guaranteed losing season. New coach from the NW, brings his buddies, complete roster turnover (40 players in portal or draft), cannot recruit and has 3 years HC experience in Power 5. I cannot believe I am describing the vaunted Bama machine. It’s gone. Welcome to mediocrity and praying for a bowl berth.

I respect the stunning and seemingly unnoticeable transition to a basketball school. Well played moron. Only 40 players from Bama in the portal or heading to the NFL.

Bama needs to partner with Washington to see if its possible they can field a full roster for spring practice by combining left overs. About to start throwing those schollys at preferred walk ons. I am saddened by what I am seeing. Not an overwhelming show of confidence in new coach. Very sad.

Yep. When that recruiting coordinator from lib town Seattle hits the Deep South we wont be able to count the five stars running to T town. Hartsin has given him all his contacts. I’m skeered.
Dabo is who he is
Posted by Buyugurl on 12/20/23 at 10:20 am
Dabo always makes it about Dabo. His quote from today:
"The cool thing about this day is that people have to choose you -- and that never gets old for me."

Unfortunately for the Aggies they are stuck with Jimbo unless he resigns. The hue and cry from the liberal academicians if a university paid $80mm to fire a football coach when that money could have been spent for students, etc. would be so loud as to change the football landscape even more. Jimbo needs to negotiate a privately funded package and retire for health reasons. Your only shot is that Aggie.
I went to church today and thanked God I was not born in College Station.
Wow.
Wow.
It is clear after three games

South Alabama has the best team in the state.

Les to Michigan would be awesome. I like that one.
Interesting Comparison
Posted by Buyugurl on 1/4/23 at 7:17 am
Jim Harbaugh has taken his team to back to back CFP appearances. His UM buyout is reportedly $3mm. How does that buyout compare to other successful coaches or even coaches who had a losing record and missed a bowl appearance? Is Harbaugh the norm? $3mm sounds like a lot of money. Surely that is one of the higher buyouts in NCAA football. Can anyone think of examples that would be higher?
re: K State was flagged for holding with 14 minutes left in the Sugar Bowl

You should be pleased. Bama has developed into a nice little top 15ish program with an outside chance of a playoff berth every few years. That should make you happy. Stop whining.
Interesting Stat from last night results

“Texas A&M is now the only power 5 program in the state of Texas that hasn’t played for a National Title in Football, Basketball or Baseball since 1940.”

“And as we’ve seen time and again, LSU QB’s never improve in their second year.”
There was a guy, think his last name was Burrow, that seemed to get better his second year.

Love that you guys got 3 out of the top 5 in SC and Dabo only got one. That’s what Spurrier did.

Based on that list it is quite obvious that Saban is underachieving. Talk about overrated. Wow. A decent coach with the best players in every game, every year should win 3 out of 4 at a minimum. Very sad.
Of course he bought the class, but I could not care less. What is going to be hilarious is to watch the melt when BAMA loses a game with the greatest team ever. You either win every game with this team or you are considered an abject failure. Your will not be able to enjoy watching one game next year because if you lose………………..hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Yeh we did. Classic case of looking ahead to an SECCG and letting a Div II team sneak up on you. Hats off Aggies for taking advantage of our lack of interest. Great win for you guys. Just about got you a break even season with the greatest talent in history. Bless your hearts.
Actually I felt kind of sad for him. He exposed to the world how bad those many losses to LSU had impacted him. It was a bit cringy and reminded me of watching Joe Biden try to speak coherently. We all just kind of looked down at our feet with a bit of awkward silence. Bless his heart. He’ll get better as he learns to win.

But he is destroying the program just as he did FSU. You cannot let him do that.
This is how it will play out for Jimbo
Posted by Buyugurl on 11/13/22 at 1:38 pm
He wants out, the administration wants him out and the fans definitely want him out. No way are they firing him and paying $85MM. Here’s what is going to happen.
The administration will search for a reason to fire him with cause. It will likely be more of a technicality than a serious violation, although that could occur. Jimbo will say no way. The situation at this point will be untenable and neither party will ever move forward together. Aggie will “reluctantly” negotiate a reduced buy-out, although still substantial, Jimbo will claim he was wronged and accepted less to just get out. They go their separate ways. It will all be choreographed by each parties lawyers/agent. This will happen.
