I've lost count of how many professional photographers I've seen at funerals in which I've been a uniformed participant. There are probably dozens of photos out there of me in my dress blues at the graveside. I didn't ask for them to be taken, and I am not a public figure, but still it happens a lot. There are several funerals that happen each year where remains from WWII/Korea/Vietnam are being returned to American soil to be laid to rest and they are no small events for the communities in which they take place.
