Ideas for a Louisiana themed F/D gift?

Posted by WildBill8 on 7/18/24 at 3:12 pm
Great minds of the F/D board. I have a business meeting in North Carolina next week with two guys who are big foodies. I want to bring them some different items from here to show my appreciation and hopefully make a good impression. They are both loaded, so expensive doesn’t necessarily matter, the more genuine, the better. I’ve got a couple of ideas but was hoping someone here may have some ideas I haven’t thought of. Thanks!
Anyone have one extra ticket for sale for tonight’s game?
My son and I are staying there Sat-Mon. My friend owns a great restaurant down the street in Carrboro, called Acme. They also have a bar called Atlas, both are great places. Hope to run into y'all there!
Lot 304 - $150

Looking for a parking pass on campus or anywhere on the stadium side of Nicholson

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your 3 sack cooker? I've been researching a good bit and have seen a lot of 2 sack cookers and the results for custom ones are in TX. I've got a semi-commercial setting that I basically want the results you described in your post
Great thread! There is a Tin Roof Brewery (out of Baton Rouge) collaboration with ABGB (Austin Beer Garden and Brewery) big party Friday night. Event details are here: LINK

Garage/Garage Apt. building help

Posted by WildBill8 on 6/26/13 at 1:52 pm
I'm looking to build out a new garage with an apartment above it and am looking for recs on a builder (in the Baton Rouge area). I just want to get it to the rough-in stage and do the rest myself. The contractor that built my house will do it, but he's a bigger outfit and his price reflects that. I'm looking for a smaller company, or even individual who can help get it where I want it (and hopefully for a better price than the bigger guy). Any help/thoughts/recommendations are much appreciated
I am about to start building my house and acting as my own GC. I know there are tons of material suppliers in the area, but just wanted to know if any of you that have built your own house found some suppliers to be better suited for an owner builder, price/quality/helpful/etc. TIA

Are you in BR? What builder are you using? I'm looking for a contractor right now...
I'll be in the South Endzone cheering on Big Steve :geauxtigers:

I know the guy who is doing this. LSU will be up very soon. He's going to have a bunch of detailed maps. It's going to be really clutch for navigating other campuses for away games, or even for home games, as it always seems someone asks me where something hall is and I have no clue

I talked to him last week and he said he should be 100% by September. Whether that means he'll play or not, I don't know. He said they have been killing him with "pre-hab" stuff since the injury and they think he will make a very fast recovery.

Best online trading site?

What is the best site for trading online? I'm only looking to make a few trades a month, so I was trying to find a site where the costs would be conducive to this type of trading. Any thoughts?
What are some of the prices per square foot you are seeing for residential housing? Particularly looking to build in the Springlake/Fairhill Subdivision over on Bluebonnet. Thanks

I think it's insulting to the basketball team to use the game as a forum to kiss football recruits' asses.

How is that insulting to the basketball team? Do you think they really care? They will be happy that there is a hyped up crowd cheering for LSU
pretty sure these days that would get you labeled as a sexual predator and your house would become a little red dot on a map online....

We were there for Troy and obviously didn't get too rowdy in the first half, but we were yelling like hell in the second half. I normally sit in the student section, so the only thing I would say is different would be not using obscenities. There were lots of little kids around. Nobody seemed to mind us yelling though (however, not many participated with us)
