Searching for iOS streaming solutions led me to this older thread. I actually just got back from a trip abroad earlier this month and had the exact same issue trying to catch US sports on my iPad while out of the country.

The problem with a lot of the mainstream apps is that ESPN and other streaming services instantly flag their data center IPs and block you from watching anyway. Plus, constantly messing with the settings every time you switch from hotel Wi-Fi to cellular is incredibly annoying.

I ended up trying out Mysterium VPN since it’s relatively cheap and practically plug-and-play on iOS. It uses residential IPs instead of standard server ones, so the sports apps just think you're sitting in a regular house in the US and let the stream play without issues.

Definitely worth a look if you or anyone else finding this thread later on still needs a headache-free setup for traveling.
