re: Colorado Early Elk Season Boot

I am not spending another $30+ dollars on gaiters. The V. Treks are lighter than either boot you or mylsuhat suggested. We were camped at 10,000 ft. Hunted from 11,000 to 9,000 ft. It rained almost every day and snowed once each trip. This was the 3rd week in Sept. It was a wet and cold environm...

After 3 elk bowhunting trips to southwestern CO. I would recommend Irish Setter Vapr Trek 17" (waterproof) snake boots. A good marino wool sock. No silk liner. The key would be to get a 1/2 size bigger and a wider boot so the thick sock does not feel tight on your feet. You want 17" boots because yo...

You are thinking like I was. I wanted to do all I could to keep cost down. I have a small kitchen, 10x16 but went with nice stuff. Ended up paying about 20k total. One thing I forgot to mention I would do differant would be to sell a kidney to have someone do the drywall. Frick a drywall install. Go...

I used HD for my Kitchen about 10yrs ago. I'am in Tx. though. I did the demo down to the studs, moved and added some electrical and had a buddy put in a new tile floor. Went to HD and picked out cabinets, sink, counter tops and the apliances. They installed the cabinets, sink and countertop. I did th...
My wife doesn't hunt but is very supportive of me and our daughters love of hunting. I decided on 7mm08 for them for low recoil and the ability to move up to elk size game. For budget i'd look at Savage Axis then maybe a Ruger American with a nice scope. But you can't beat the quality and how g...

The Masonic square and compass symbol is layed out in the National Mall. His image of the star in the streets can be found all over the interweb. But I havent found the S&C symbol outlined like that star is. Most of the time they leave the Jefferson Memorial off the map. Weird. You must rotate the m...

One of the simplest things you can do is just buy boots that are a size or two up and layer socks. Just about any boot, even well insulated ones, that are too tight aren’t gonna allow for air space and will make your feet cold. Gets down in the 20s where I hunt and I’m generally fine with some good ...

Congrats! Cut some paths thur the underbrush to where you want the deer to go. They will take the path of least resistance. Doesn't need to be much. If you dont already have one get a utv/mule type ride. The reason for purple paint on fence lines is because most color blind people càn see purpl...
