So it's based on your opinion and the VP opinions.
And ultimately that's how all hiring works (excluding mandated rules, usually for public companies etc.)
Based on my hiring experience, as well as acquaintances from the C-Suite down to mid-management across various industries and locales, the truth is - "it depends".
I've seen organizations use regional bias (e.g. South east company look at South east schools), network bias (grad from x school hire alumni from x school), as well as branding bias (tech role look at berkley, stanford MBAs etc) or predictably big name/top tier (Kellogg, Harvard etc).
It boils down to :
a) what do you want from the degree (curriculum, price, reputation etc.)
b) where do you plan to utilize the degree (region, industry etc.)
c) what else you bring to the table. (is the MBA the crux of your personal brand, one more pre-screening "check mark", or a "tie breaker").
I know VPs and senior executives that don't have MBAs, as well as MBA grads that I wouldn't trust with a lemonade stand. It's no different than other credentials in terms of hiring utilization
