Don't embarrass yourself. I'm new to TD and I really don't know who you are talking about?
Guess I'll go back to the Outdoor board.

the place where I have seen the most woodcock...(north west of the river parishes....)

We have decent populations in the coastal parishes along river bottoms and areas of damp soil. But more so after hard cold fronts come thru in Dec/Jan.
But those seem to be fewer and far between.
Woodcocks are a son of a bitch to hit when they flush thru the briars and woods. Quite challenging, but excellent table fare.
No bird dogs now, but used to hunt them in S Louisiana as a kid with dogs. Now its woodcock after a hard cold front in Dec/Jan.

Cant think of 1 good reason why God invented these?
We used to have them, but they all but gone down here.
