re: Going to Lexington...need advice

"roadkill stew". most of us make it with beef these days... but if you venture out far enough into the mountains you might find a more traditional expression with venison and/or oppossum. in either case, its hearty and a good base for an aggressive day of bourbon

easy walk, you'll follow major roads but you won't be alone making the trek down to campus. cops won't bug you for having a solo cup either

the linked thread above is great. a few additions:
1. the keeneland-football "daily double" is probably our best fall tradition. but unlike previous years, keeneland is capping headcount, so you need to buy tickets in advance. they are "sold out" for friday and saturday but refresh the ticketing website every so often, some seats will be released. you can obviously go out and enjoy the tailgate scene (which is better than what you'll find at the stadium, imho) but you're not gonna be able to just walk into the track this year, unfortunately
2. around the stadium, don't expect anything approaching the tailgating scene you're used to. we're friendly and will share food and booze but it's not on the same level.
3. i went to the bama-lsu game in 2018 and got a ton of invitations to join tailgates, felt the genuine hospitality of the scene, etc. if you make it to keeneland, i'll be in the louisville lot with as much burgoo you can eat and bourbon you can drink. look for the nashville predators flag. go cats

never responded to this thread after the game 3 yrs ago, but appreciative of the ppl who made the tailgate a blast, despite both UK and LSU getting waxed that day. trying to pay back your hospitality this weekend... if you're making the drive to lexington, come tailgate at keeneland. bourbon and burgoo is on me in the louisville lot, look for the nashville predators flag.

I realize there have been several other of these types of posts, so I'll try to not overlap with what's already on the board...
My brother, two of my college friends, and I are coming in from all around the country for the Alabama game and we are fkn PUMPED. We try to hit a marquee game a couple times a year and a LSU-Bama night game at TS has always been on the bucket list. Tickets already in hand (Section 410 - hopefully not too many bama fans around us?), hotel booked, etc.
Two questions:
1. We're staying at a hotel out by I-10/Essen - a little further out than we wanted to be but we booked late. We are in our early 30s and plan to tailgate (read: drink) all day, so driving is out. The Uber/Lyft stories sound horrible - is it really that bad? I know it won't be as much of a hassle getting to campus early in the morning but any tips on where we should walk after the game ends to improve the likelihood of not waiting for hours? I don't really care about the surge prices, we'll split the cost 4 ways so it won't be a total kick in the D.
2. My brother and I grew up in Lexington and... it's nice to have a real football team. I was at Commonwealth for the bluegrass miracle (brutal) and the 3OT win in 07 (it all worked out OK for you guys.) Of course our biggest game of the year (Georgia) is the same day we'll be in BR, prob the 2:30 CBS game. Do a lot of the campus-area tailgates have TVs where we'll be able to share some bourbon in exchange for a seat by the screen? Or will we have to head out to the RV lot or one of the bars? My preference would be to avoid the bars if possible.
Thanks to everyone who has posted recommendations on other threads like this, it has been very helpful. If you see some random UK fans wandering around on gameday, give us a shout. Hope to watch a big win for you guys. Geaux Tigers
