It's so sad but these days coaching is starting to get more and more irrelevant in college football.. It all comes down to the amount of NIL money that a school is willing to fork up to get the top recruits.. If you are one of the few lucky ones that is able to have the elite coach along with the school that also competes financially into NIL you(Georgia at the top of that list lol) better cherish every second of it.. The other side is not as sweet lol.. I mean we just watched schools offer up their first and second born children for a coach who got his first top 25 SEC road win this season.. Its crazy!

I think Stricklin made the right decision, I wouldn't of given Lane Kiffin full control either, what has he done to earn that right? He just got his first win over a top 25 team on the road this year and you are ready to give him the keys to your entire program?? Between Florida and LSU world hunger could of been solved with all of the money you both have given to coaches to not coach for you.. Lane needed full control to go to Florida bc he has watched the musical chairs you have played with coaches, changing coaches like you change underwear since Urban left..

These schools and fan bases need to stay in their lane and remember who they are.. Beamer nearly got SC to the CFP last year which to me is amazing.. In my opinion the Gamecocks are towards the bottom of the SEC when it comes to recruiting and program recognition.. Take a look around the conference there have been so many coaches fired already, why not let your coach with some stability give it another run.. I mean I would understand if the last 3 seasons have looked like this year, but you are coming off one of the better years your program has ever seen. Or get in line with the 25 other schools for Lane Kiffin where 24 will end up disappointed, be careful what you wish for!

Maybe they would if all that mattered in the state of Arkansas was football so much so that the governor is hiring and firing ADs/coaches decisions.. Followed by hiring Verge Ausberry the same guy that was suspended a few years back for turning the other cheek and did nothing when then LSU WR punched his GF in the face.. Seems like you are on your way to building a program where players get away with whatever they want as long as they perform on the field. You might as well just go ahead and hire Urban Meyer

I agree, when have you ever in your life heard of a governor firing the AD or having a say in the head coach of a school.. As the governor you have a lot more to worry about than who is the football coach of the state school.. Just goes to show what really matters in Louisiana.. Brian Kelly had a buyout you chose to fire him and you should pay every penny of it bc it was the agreed upon amount.. Every coach who is a finalist for this job is watching the disaster that is LSU right now and I love every second of it!!

Haha very funny that Florida thinks they have that kind of leverage.. They will wait and do whatever Kiffin ask of them to do.. This is your problem Florida you jump into these hirings and firings way too fast and looks where its got you.. The AD and the rest of the athletic department need to get thicker skin and get off social media and stop listening to the fans expectations.. Gator fans think Tim Tebow's grow on trees and it's the last 5 coaches fault he hasn't found another one

Ok and just like they moved to Oxford they can move to Gainesville or Baton Rouge.. I am sure either Florida or LSU will fund it.. Lane Kiffin is going to take the job he thinks will be best for him, the family will gladly follow

You actually think during the middle of the season where they are looking at making the playoffs he would come out and say he is taking another job?? Come on dude wake up, of course he is going to say he is not worried about another job.. His agent is taking care of all that, I won't believe anything at all until Florida and LSU both make hires not named Lane Kiffin.

He won't leave Oxford because of this picture?? The worst take ever, if he wants the job at Florida or LSU he is gone.. His family will fit in the same way in either Baton Rouge or Gainesville. You aren't some elite program my man

If Lane thinks Florida is a better fit then he is gone.. There is no way that he is going to say in the middle of the year when they are looking at a playoff spot that he is going to take another job.. I know Ole Miss has never had a coach that other schools wanted, but be careful being so confident he isn't going anywhere.. This is a dirty game

Ole Miss is a better job than Florida.. We have been hearing for how many years about Florida being a wonderful can't say no to job.. Yet they have changed head coaches like underwear, all different types of mentalities, and have all failed to bring Florida to where the fan base thinks they belong which is as unrealistic as it gets.. You had a coach come who turned his head the other way and whose motto was lie, cheat, steal, but never lose! Mixed with a couple of good recruiting classes and had small window of success, but ever since then you are fighting to try and become something your not which is a blue blood power house.. The Florida fan base is one of the worst when it comes to being unrealistic and so quick to turn on a coach, If you ask me Lane needs to stay put, he had to deal with Tennessee fans and got out of there as quickly as possible the Florida fan base is a close 2nd to Tennessee when it comes to the way they view their program lol
