I have a dog that barks whenever a plane goes over head, which living in Las Vegas is several times a day. We live on a half acre lot and have 9 foot cement walls. He has dog door and stays inside most of the time. His bark though could carry through windows to irritate our (to our belief overly sensitive) neighbors. They reported us to animal control twice! We were treated by Animal control to seize all of our dogs.... let alone the one that has that lovely bark that can be heard 3 blocks over... we talked to our vet and he advised that there is a procedure that can take that pitch out without taking away their ability to bark! It’s called a vocal punch, the cords don’t have nerves and are visualized through a scope in the mouth. Three hole are put in each cord. The result, our dog has a deeper bark that does not penetrate the house and is not heard from inside neighbors houses. Our dog can still tell us when a visitor approaches and bark at a plane.

This does not take barking away. It makes him sound like McGruff. Deeper bark.

Maybe try that if you’re in similar situation. It worked for us and our neighbors.

Oh, and all you people telling someone that is seeking help to go die, or accusing of animal abuse etc. you are cyber bullies and should be ashamed! Look at the world we live in today. People have literally shamed others into suicide on discussion boards. You should all look at our culture and what part people like you take in school shootings, suicides and homocides. Be KIND.

As for dogs and cats, I applaud the efforts of those that would try to keep a dog with a normal habit that is healthy and not a training issue at all from being put to sleep because Las Vegas stacks houses on each other and neighbors have as little kindness as yourselves.
