re: Is tom brady the GOAT
Posted by wolfhawk71 on 2/6/12 at 12:14 pm to VolsFan24
Brady had a lot to do with the 2nd and 3rd Super Bowls but the first one he was basically along for the ride. He threw 1 TD in the postseason that year. As far as his short passes, here's something interesting.

Matt Cassel put up good numbers in the New England system and he is an average (at best) NFL QB. I'm not impressed by the way Brady throws the ball. He is the best QB ever at the 5-10 yard pass.

Bring some substance with your bullshite next time. Brady's game has never impressed me and I hate to watch the Patriots play because of the way their offense is designed. Eli made some great throws and I didn't see ANY all night from Brady.

Brady throws 5 yard outs, curls, and slants and a lot of check-downs to RBs out of the backfield. That's why he completed 15 in a row. He gets too much credit for doing too little. He threw 2 passes down the field on back to back plays to Welker which was a bad pass and would've had to be a great catch and then the next pass was off target as well. Then Eli comes out and puts one on a dime 38 yards downfield to Manningham. Eli > Brady

I have no problem whatsoever with this take. I agree 100%. In fact, I understand why he is in the HOF based on this. Just don't try to convince me that he's in for his greatness as a player because he just doesn't measure up.
Personally, I don't care if he's in the HOF or not, I was just trying to give some reasons why the voters may have thought he deserved to be there. I never saw him play so I can't say if his play was HOF-worthy. Just based on his stats, I'd say absolutely not, but statistics are not the end all be all of the HOF.

Its the Hall of Fame, not the hall of dominant stats. Namath is in for SB III and effectively legitimizing the AFL. If he were up for election now, no way he gets in, but the year he did get in the voters obviously felt that his impact on the game was Hall of Fame worthy.
re: will the Peyton nuthuggers pull for the Colts over the Saints?

So if someone has been a Colts fan since Manning has been with the Colts and now all of a sudden pulls for the Saints you're cool with that? That would the textbook definition of bandwagon fan.

This year the votes are done online.
That's an improvement at least.

McCoy is losing his Heisman tonight.
By this time aren't there usually a significant amount of votes already cast? The voting system needs to be revamped to make this credible.

If ND were willing to wait till after the NCG, I think he'd be more willing to listen. There was no way he was leaving at any point Tebow was still there IMO.

They've been giving it to McGahee short yardage all season with good success why should they change now? If they give it to Rice and he doesn't get it, the question is why did they not give it to McGahee.

He isn't what he was a few years ago but he hasn't fallen off as far as Skip Bayless and the like would have you to believe.

Post the names of the QB's who have been throwing him the ball.

Still a top 10 WR in the NFL regardless of how the media hates him. 98 yd TD and 7 catches for 174 yds on the day so far.

4th TD for Gerhart. The O-line for Stanford opened a couple massive holes on that drive for him.

It was 21-17, but turnovers were the key to the game 3 for ULM to 1 for ULL.

I'm not sure enough that he wouldn't have dropped it to complain about him letting it go.
