It's wild because he was one of the few guys I liked all year. Felt he consistently brought positive energy & leadership, always brought effort even if he was a bit underwhelming defensively.

How you finish things really matters.
I'm willing to take it a step further.. I will bet the life of my wife and three children as well.

True. I am not fully sold Pettiford can be your true 1 if you are a good team though.

You could maybe make it work if you had some kind of point forward type you could run the offense through, I just don't see us having that sort of comeuppance in the portal.

I think we need to retain 3-4 of these rotation guys at minimum for me to have much faith. SP didn't inspire much confidence that he can bring a group of newbies together in only a season.

I'd prefer SWA, Overton, and Freeman to return for sure. Would also love to have Pettiford back at the right price, but not sure we can afford to spend $2+ million on him which I suspect is his asking price.
I can guarantee you Noah Williamson will land at Bama and that he will be extremely underwhelming. Willing to bet my life on it.

6-4 Regular Season record against an all SEC schedule is miles better than anything we have experienced since.

We have won 11 SEC games in the 5 seasons since then. Just better than 2 SEC wins per year.
“We’re excited to welcome Narcisse Ngoy to our program. He’s a high-upside young man who brings toughness, physicality, and a team-first mindset to everything he does.

Narcisse has a strong feel for the game on both ends of the floor. His instincts, ability to catch and finish around the basket, rim protection, and willingness to embrace contact will make him an immediate impact while filling a huge need for our team.

What stands out most is his commitment to winning. He’s not focused on individual numbers—he takes pride in doing the hard, physical work that helps his team succeed. He competes at a high level, processes the game well, and understands how to play within a system.

Off the court, Narcisse lives a disciplined lifestyle and has shown he thrives in a structured, demanding environment. He’s highly coachable, responds well to being pushed, and is strong in his faith. As he grows into his full potential, we believe his ceiling is extremely high.

Narcisse is a humble, driven young man with tremendous upside, and we’re excited to help him develop both on and off the floor here at Auburn.”

The write up from SP seems very telling in terms of what he thinks went wrong this year. Emphasized his character, responsiveness to coaching and demands, discipline..

Credit to SP in terms of realizing the type of kids he probably needs to be coaching. He isn't a guy who can rally and fix guys like Keshawn Hall, CBM, etc.

BUT it doesn't mean anything if he can't find some real talent that fits in that realm.

I'm gonna go with Pat Dye easily. Tubs and Gus are close but I'd lean Tubs. I do love Gus though.

I agree the comment doesn't make a ton a sense, but Bruce definitely doesn't think that AU was unloyal to him. That's not what he meant.

Hubert was fired because he wasn't meeting the standard.

Is it? Several high profile coaches have retired in the last 3-4 years for that reason. Sure it got exhausting for the old school guys especially.

I don't think that's his point at all. 2 separate issues.

Getting some real run in the NBA right now. Happy for that dude!
Double figures in 4 of the last 6.

Sharife Cooper getting his first chance at an extended role as well and had a nice game last night.

Donaldson appears out of eligibility but man I love how he evolved

HERE is what an elite receiving season looks like under Alex Golesh. I counted 3 "difficult" throws in this video, and MAYBE 1 "dangerous" throw into a tight window (slant against Saban press coverage with a strong safety)

Not sure I wouldn’t mind him being the PR this season. We need someone that just catches the frickin ball there anything else is a benefit

We had a stretch in the late Tuberville years where we couldn't field a punt to save our lives.

It had been a solid run in that department until Freeze reopened those wounds.
I'd prefer quality mid-majors over the likes of Arizona, Michigan, and Purdue until we prove to have a top-tier coach again.

You're right, and doesn't bother me at all other than that it's a goofy tweet

With the exception of UGA the SEC has been very impressive.

The SEC wasn't all that great in non-conference play this year (compared to last year) but I think that was more to do with timing than anything. Most of the elite teams from last season replaced most of their rotation and it likely took a while for them to gel.

And some of us never gelled..
