Reading the comments on the Rant about the LSU Baseball asst. coaches and just wanted to make a few comments.

1) I've never been impressed with David Grewe. In college baseball, I think you need a teacher of the game as a pitching coach. In college baseball, there are very few dominant pitchers in the game that don't need a lot of teaching. i.e. Ranaudo. For the most part, you have pitchers that are talented to an extent, but need those extra pointers to be a great pitcher in college baseball. Look at Matty Ott had a GREAT freshmen season, was sub-par last year and so-so, so far this year. I think Ott would greatly benefit from a hands-on guy as a pitching coach. Grewe's coaching style is hands-off, with him providing advice when he feels necessary.(This article from the 08' goes into more detail. LINK

2. I don't think we'll see a change at Hitting Coach. Coach Mainieri and Coach Sanchez have the same aggressive hitting and baserunning philosophies, so unless Coach Mainieri wants to look elsewhere I think Sanchez stays.

I know Coach Miles has won a national championship, but he's made some coaching decisions in games that have made me scratch my head.

If we make it to the second game against UGA, will it be televised?

I know the season just started, but how's our recruiting look for next season? Are we looking at any big guys? Listening to the A&M game today, it's obvious we need some size.

Didn't get to see your segment. I've been wanting to go check out the team. Usually they play at inconvient(sp?) times(10:30PM on Fridays and 8:30AM on Saturday)
