In July 2020 I tested positive for Covid and had fever that progressively got worse over nine days and on day six of nine pneumonia blew up, which is when I was admitted to the hospital. That first day they started me on a five day regimen of Remdesivir and within six hours my fever was gone and I felt like I could go home on day four of five. I’ve had no issues since, not even a cold.

Remdesivir stops the virus from replicating so your immune system can heal but is not meant to to be administered for as long as they are giving it to patients. It also needs go be administered earlier than later. When my lungs blew up, they said it was due to a cytokine storm that is an immune response to the virus, not the virus itself so Remdesivir worked for me. I know others who were in the same boat and they had similar success.

What would concern me for your neighbor would be the fluid, which her kidneys need to be strong enough to handle. Also the length of time she has been in the hospital already. Best of luck to her and her family.
