Amplify emergency response time to an accident by 50 during an ice road event coupled with other major routes closed forcing everyone onto interstate = what you got...During a normal emergency interstate closure things back WAY UP in a very short time. They are many things that can be done to be PROACTIVE INSTEAD OF REACTIVE, but they all cost $$$$$

Sounds like you must have bought a few of them steak dinners probably have the king ranch f250 and you got the debris contract for $28 a yd and then paid the poor driver $5 a yd to do the work and haul it. All at the tax payer expense.Maybe you like to call a contractor plumber and pay him $300 to unclog your toliet everytime instead of doing it yourself. I dont think EVERY tax payer can afford or wants to foot the bill for ALL contract work...hahaha

Maybe like Florida did in the late 90s get rid of dot employees and hire all contractors. That way politicians like Jindal can sell 10k steak dinners at his campaign events to contractors and the tax payer can foot the bill. I know many contractors driving king ranch f250s on $11 an hr lol. Florida almost went bankrupt before they saw the light

Louisiana has more miles of elevated highways than any state...elevated concrete equals ice, ice doesnt equal snow plow for those in Rio linda.

All the bankers, electricians, burger flippers, coaches and know it alls and Monday morning quarterbacks. The DOTD doesnt have neccesary equipment for these type of events. Borrow from states? You do realize half the country is using their equipmemt? A blade on front of truck? Will NOT ELIMINATE ICE maybe push snow. Funding? State hasnt had a gas tax increase since 1986? Do your professions operate with the same budgets as 1986? All of you so called republicans bitching are getting the fruit of your sorry Bobby JJindal.Jindal issued 19,000 contracts per year totaling 5-7 BBBBBILION on ignorant stuff like 150,000 to teach mexicans how to use seatbelts in Rapides parish, 100,000 to teach highschoolers about careers in the fashion industry. 10k in st tammany for a lrimate study, 10 mil up front and 278k a month to install gps units and monitoring to an Arizona company still paid to date, in which the parent company donated to his presidential run. All along smearing state employees reoutation to the public telling the public the $11r man with the shovel in his hand is the financial burden to the state. Or maybe some of you are the ones That gave Trump a pass on the pandemic "natural disaster" well were did this ice come from? This is a small example of what is to come. The TAX PAYER CANT AFFORD TO CONTRACT ALL OPERATIONS OUT and they expect an agency to continue on 1986 budgeting. Maybe some of you should invest in a private helicopter. Nothing wrong with constructive crtisim, but dont talk out of your arse
