No, 2,4-D is not safe on them. However, some products with a very low rate of 2,4-D will get away without killing them. The safest products for broadleaf control are dicamba at a really low rate, MSM at about 1/3 oz, or atrazine....

Spray the spots with a bioactivator product to try and neutralize the salts....
Atrazine just usually weakens bermuda but doesn't kill it. Clethodim products work best. An example is Grass Out Max by Agrisel. I sell it at my store in Bossier City. The sethoxydim products also work pretty well. It may take 2-3 applications a season to get rid of it. Use a good surfactant....
LSU is workinmg on a Sodium nitrite bait but it isn't finished yet. It has been tested extensively in Australia but not used here yet. This one is warfarin based....
The instructions with the product require feeding a similar, safe bait, for a few weeks first to condition them to the feeder, etc. then slipping in the poisonous bait for a few days once they are coming in good. This will also prevent them learning as fast what it was that hit them....
It has the same active ingredient as blood thinners people take, warfarin. It takes a few days to kill a hog, but as soon as it gets in the bloodstream, it turns the fatty layers blue.
