re: Dryer Repair

It sure is. I have bought a renovation project that I have to split the work between contractors and DIY. I have learned a lot but still get caught up on goofy things once in a while.
Ughh, the post about the cord made me run through the routine again (I have been without the dryer for a few weeks.). The power stick that detects area current didn't go off this time. The breakers were mislabeled and I didn't know it would be one of the large breakers.
The AC people must have hit it off when looking for that breaker (I just thought it was an unused breaker).
Not a great first post. As I will most likely be a very infrequent poster, I would like to say that this lurker finds most all of you very funny. I am going to get into my kitchen and make a sandwich :)

Dryer Repair

The dryer does nothing when the knob is turned (no lights-nothing).
I checked the breaker and there seems to be power to the outlet (I am not knowledgeable enough to check currents).
In the meantime, I discovered that the vent in the carport has been smashed in at some point so I was going to order a new thermal fuse (and fix vent).
With all the posts lately about dryers, people seem to be getting some activity with a blown thermal fuse (starts but shuts off early).
If the fact that the dryer does nothing indicates that it is more than a thermal fuse, I will call a repairman. From what I researched, I should be able to fix a thermal fuse.
If it is more than that, my skill level indicates a repairman.
Is there a chance it is still just the thermal fuse?
